  • Patent number: 8561273
Abstract: A tool turret, with a base body (1) attachable to a machine tool defines a turret axis (13) around which the tool disk (7) is pivoted on the base body (1). The disk has a plurality of tool stations (45) distributed on its periphery. Turning the tool disk (7) can set it into at least one working position at a time. A tool drive (31, 35) located within the tool disk (7) with its output-side gear part (35) can be turned around an axis of rotation radial to the turret axis (13). By coupling, the tool device engages the tool-side coupling part for driving at least one tool located on the tool station (45) aligned to the working position. The output-side gear part (35) is located in the tool disk (7) to be pivotable around the turret axis (13).

  • Patent number: 6931972
Abstract: The invention relates to a tool revolver comprising a revolver head (12) which is supported by a housing (20) and which can be rotated in relation to said housing (20) by means of at least one axial bearing (24). The axial bearing (24) is mounted in between the revolver head (12) and the housing (20) in the direction of the revolver head (12) by means of a locking member (32). The hydraulic medium producing the fluidic pressure can be placed in between the locking member (32) and a connecting element (38). The connecting element (38) engages with the locking member (32) from below in such a way that the axial bearing (24) is subject to pressure when the revolver head (12) is in a locked or unlocked state. Consequently, all major functions are brought together in a minimum amount of construction space, requiring only a minimum amount of components.

Abstract: The invention relates to a tool turret comprising: a housing (10), for connection to a machine tool, an electric drive motor (28), a tool disc (14), which is mounted such as to rotate relative to the housing (10), about a longitudinal axis (34) and which may be fixed in selected angular positions, with recesses (16) for machining tools (18). At least one rotating machining tool (18) may be driven by the drive motor (28), using shafts (24, 30), running perpendicular to the longitudinal axis (34) and which represent the swivelling axis of the tool disc (14). The above is embodied with the electric drive motor (28) arranged within the tool disc (14) and the driveshaft (30) from the electric drive (28) aligned with the driveshaft (24) for the machining tool (18) or running parallel thereto, such that an economical drive design for machining tools on a tool turret is achieved, furthermore with a small installation volume.

  • Patent number: 6729813
Abstract: A spindlehead for tools is insertable into a tool disk with holders provided for such spindleheads. A spindle holds the shank of the tool in its chuck at its front end section, and is rotatably mounted by a spindle bearing in a spindlehead housing. A coolant feed extends at least in part in the spindlehead housing to convey coolant to the tool via at least one coolant channel and an internal coolant feed line in the spindle. A sealing device with a throttling point is separated form parts of a drainage channel. The sealing device has at least one sealing ring enclosing the spindle. The sealing ring is longitudinally movable in the spindlehead housing coaxially with the spindle axis. After longitudinal movement into a sealing position, the sealing ring separates the internal coolant feed line from the associated parts of the drainage channel up to a specifiable leakage amount. The accuracy of machining with the tool may be increased and the installation space available can be better used.

  • Patent number: 6722005
Abstract: A turret includes a housing connected to a machine tool, a rotatably mounted toolholder for mounting of machining tools, and an electric drive for rotating the toolholder into a particular working station for the machining tools. The electric drive has a rotor and a stator with coil windings. The rotor of the electric drive is connected to the toolholder. The stator is connected to elements of the housing. The rotary movement for the toolholder is generated without gearing and directly by the electric drive of the rotor enclosing the stator. Since both the rotor and the stator are enclosed by the toolholder and since the rotor is in direct contact with the toolholder on the side of the external circumference and rigidly connected to the toolholder for transmission of torque, the rotor-stator layout creates an external rotor for the electric drive. In that layout, the rotor rotates externally, with the tool holder and the stator being mounted internally of the housing.
