Abstract: A method, a system, and an article are provided for managing a file cache for a client application. An example computer-implemented method can include: storing a plurality of files in a memory on a client device for a client application; identifying a first portion of the files in the memory as having been used during a previous run of the client application; receiving, from at least one server, one or more lists of files to be used during a current run of the client application; identifying a second portion of the files in the memory as not being included in at least one of the first portion and the one or more lists of files from the at least one server; and removing, from the memory, at least a subset of the second portion of the files during the current run of the client application.

Abstract: A method includes sending, by a server to each of a plurality of client devices, initializing information at a start of a task in a client application running on each of the plurality of client devices. The method further includes receiving, by the server, an input message from one of the plurality of client devices, wherein the input message is generated from an interaction with the task in the client application. The method further includes generating, by a computer processing device of the server, updated information for the task in the client application based on the received input message. The method further includes sending, by the server, the updated information to each of the plurality of client devices while the task in the client application is running to maintain synchronism between the server and the plurality of client devices for the task.

Abstract: A pool of units of a client application that satisfy one or more targeting rules associated with a primary unit is identified, wherein the pool of units includes a subset of a total number of units of the client application. A determination as to whether a first metric for a first unit of the pool of units satisfies one or more target criteria associated with the primary unit is made. In response to determining that the first metric satisfies the one or more target criteria, the first unit of the pool of units is selected as a target unit for the primary unit.
