  • Patent number: 4855602
Abstract: An apparatus for forming a beam includes a housing, electromagnetic coils and/or electrostatic devices for combining a plurality of individual beams into a single beam. Deflection mirrors can be used to deflect the combined beam in a predetermined direction. The beams so combined can include beams of a constant wave or beams in pulse formation. The electromagnetic energy may include visible and non-visible rays, infrared rays, as well as particles. Laser beams can be used employing CO2 X-rays, and Argon, among others. The application has navigational, medicinal, and military uses, among other such as total disruption of enemy's guidance, communication and detection devices employing radar. Also, total incapability of "heat-seeking" aircraft destruction devices to be effective against aircraft fitted with this invention.

  • Patent number: 4593906
Abstract: Apparatus for conducting sports and games on a slippery solid playing area surface comprises one or more doughnut-shaped streamlined discs which include a self-contained propulsion device. Each disc optionally carries an operator and includes around the perimeter thereof a resilient collision bumper. The surface of the playing area comprises a slippery upper layer and a solid underlayer. Each disc, while being supported on the surface upper layer in sliding relationship, is slidingly moved over the surface upper layer by propulsion devices acting relative to the underlayer. Such propulsion can be generated, for example, by electromagnets, motors, jets and the like. Various playing area surface compositions are also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 4556213
Abstract: A reversible playing and/or performing area having at least one reversible tray which has separately utilizable opposing plane surfaces. The tray has a bottom and shallow sides. The outer surface of the bottom of the tray provides a first playing surface. The space of the tray defined by the inner surfaces of the bottom and the sides of the tray holds a bedding material which provides the base for a second, opposing playing surface. Suitable device is provided for rotatably reversing the playing surfaces. The reversible area may have a plurality of abutting trays which may be of different shapes and dimensions.
