Patent number: 11663573Abstract: A method and apparatus for reader device registration, activation, and use are described. The method may include receiving, by a commerce platform, a registration request generated by a reader device, wherein the registration request comprises at least identification data for the reader device. The method may also include transmitting, to the reader device, a registration code. The method may also include receiving, by the commerce platform from a merchant system, a second registration code purported to be the registration code transmitted to the reader device. The method may also include generating an encryption key associated with the reader device and transmitting the encryption key to the merchant system, wherein the encryption key is provided by merchant system to the reader device for use by the reader device when communicating with the commerce platform during merchant transactions.Type: GrantFiled: December 17, 2021Date of Patent: May 30, 2023Assignee: STRIPE, INC.Inventors: Jonathan Wall, Devesh Senapati, Nate Barnett

Patent number: 11423456Abstract: In embodiments, methods and systems for order management and processing based on a distributed commerce platform are provided. A distributed commerce platform supports end-to-end integrated product publication, order-management and payment services. In particular, the distributed commerce platform supports components based on Application Programming Interfaces (API) that standardize the implementation of a distributed commerce solution or configuration of off-site buying experiences. Using the distributed commerce platform, merchants can concurrently offer, sell, and process orders for products through a plurality of different affiliate channels. The distributed commerce platform can also be implemented as a federated portal from which a merchant can identify affiliate channels to publish product objects, access the plurality of affiliate channels and define configurations for processing objects of the merchant's distributed commerce solution.Type: GrantFiled: December 14, 2020Date of Patent: August 23, 2022Assignee: STRIPE, INC.Inventors: Siddarth Chandrasekaran, John Brochan Collison, Cristina Joelle Cordova, James William Danz, Stanislas Vincent Francois Polu, Devesh Senapati

Publication number: 20160328483Abstract: Techniques for generating content for topics based on user demand are disclosed. In some embodiments, generating content for topics based on user demand includes determining a topic based on a user demand; automatically generating content for the topic; and selecting the content that is contextually relevant for display within a corpus of content (e.g., a web site, a social networking web page, content customized for mobile devices, content customized based on location awareness, or an electronic mail message).Type: ApplicationFiled: May 2, 2016Publication date: November 10, 2016Inventors: Anindo Mukherjee, Ashutosh Garg, Raj K. De Datta, Devesh Senapati

Patent number: 9408143Abstract: User activity on a mobile device is monitored and collected, and a resource usage model is constructed. The resource usage model describes a set of contexts in which the mobile device, and is the basis for determining a first exhaustion point for a resource. Based on the monitored activity, a prediction of a second exhaustion point for the resource time is made. If the second exhaustion point is prior to the first exhaustion point, usage of the resource is reduced.Type: GrantFiled: November 27, 2013Date of Patent: August 2, 2016Assignee: Lookout, Inc.Inventors: Samuel Alexander Walker, Ayan Kanti Mandal, Devesh Senapati, Kevin Patrick Mahaffey, David Luke Richardson, Brian James Buck

Patent number: 8655307Abstract: Security is enhanced for a user of a mobile device by monitoring and controlling resource usage. Usage information associated with a mobile device is collected. The collected information is used to build a usage model for a user of the mobile device that describes a set of contexts in which the mobile device is used. User activity on the device is monitored and the model is consulted to determine a first time after which it will be acceptable for a battery of the mobile device to fall below a threshold charge level. Based on the monitored activity, a prediction of a second time is made for when the battery will fall below the threshold charge level. If the second time is before or a predetermined amount of time before the first time, usage of the battery is reduced, else, usage of the battery is not reduced.Type: GrantFiled: November 27, 2012Date of Patent: February 18, 2014Assignee: Lookout, Inc.Inventors: Samuel Alexander Walker, Ayan Kanti Mandal, Devesh Senapati, Kevin Patrick Mahaffey, David Luke Richardson, Brian James Buck
