  • Patent number: 11711728
Abstract: A wireless communication network manages a wireless access node. The wireless access node wirelessly exchanges user data with wireless User Equipment (UEs) and exchanges the user data with one or more network elements. The wireless access node generates status indicators that characterize wireless access node operation during the user data exchanges. An Element Management System (EMS) determines EMS load based on EMS operation and transfers load data that indicates the EMS load for delivery to the wireless access node. The wireless access node receives the load data transferred by the EMS. The wireless access node identifies individual priorities for individual ones of the status indicators. The wireless access node determines individual reporting times for the individual ones of the status indicators based on the load data and the individual priorities. The wireless access node transfers the individual ones of the status indicators to the EMS per the individual reporting times.

  • Patent number: 11395187
Abstract: A wireless access network element wirelessly exchanges user data with wireless User Equipment (UEs) and exchanges the user data with other network elements. The wireless access network element generates status indicators that characterize the wireless access network element during the user data exchanges. The wireless access network element identifies priorities for the status indicators. The wireless access network element receives load data from a network element manager. The wireless access network element processes the load data and the priorities to determine individual reporting times for the status indicators. The wireless access network element transfers the individual status indicators to the network element management system per the individual reporting times.

  • Patent number: 11212699
Abstract: A wireless User Equipment (UE) attaches to a Fifth Generation New Radio (5GNR) gNodeB in a wireless communication network. The wireless communication network receives a Guaranteed Bit Rate (GBR) request for the UE. In the wireless communication network, a Policy Control Function (PCF) efficiently invokes an Access and Mobility Management Function (AMF) and a Session Management Function (SMF) to effectively serve the GBR request. The AMF signals the UE and the 5GNR gNodeB to initiate the GBR service over the Long Term Evolution eNodeB. The SMF signals a data gateway to initiate the GBR service with the LTE eNodeB. The UE attaches to the LTE eNodeB. The LTE eNodeB and the data gateway deliver the requested GBR service to the UE.

  • Patent number: 9913242
Abstract: A first Mobility Management Entity (MME) receives a tracking area update from the User Equipment (UE) indicating a first tracking area for the wireless relay that serves the UE and indicating a second tracking area for the evolved NodeB (eNodeB) that serves the wireless relay. The first MME determines if the first tracking area and the second tracking area are different responsive to the tracking area update, and if the first tracking area and the second tracking area are different, then determines if the wireless relay is controlled by a second MME that also controls the eNodeB. If the wireless relay is not controlled by the second MME that also controls the eNodeB, then the first MME transfers UE context data to the second MME that serves the eNodeB. The second MME selects the Serving Gateway (S-GW) for the UE based on the second tracking area for the eNodeB.

  • Patent number: 9806856
Abstract: Multiple mobile devices can request or wait for acknowledgement from a device associated with a mobile telecommunications network. Embodiments of the present invention include creating and broadcasting a single acknowledgment to multiple mobile devices. Mobile devices can be associated with identifiers that include sets of characters. In order to acknowledge more than one device with one broadcast, subsets of characters from more than one identifier can be included in one value. One acknowledgement is broadcast to multiple devices. The devices are able to identify the unique subsets of characters and compare them to portions of identifiers. Multiple devices can recognize acknowledgement based on a shared value that is broadcast to the devices.
