    Abstract: A quench ring rim and methods of fabrication are described. In one aspect, a method for fabricating a rim for use in a gasification system includes providing a hollow pipe, forming the pipe into a circular pipe, wherein a first end of the pipe is coupled to an opposite second end of the pipe, and cutting the pipe to form a rim having a desired circumference.
