  • Publication number: 20230286571
Abstract: A lift device includes a base having two front wheels and two rear wheels, a retractable lift mechanism having a first end coupled to the base, a platform coupled to and supported by a second end of the retractable lift mechanism, and a steering system. The steering system includes a second linear actuator coupled to a first front wheel of the two front wheels and a third linear actuator coupled to a second front wheel of the two front wheels. The two front wheels are spaced from the two rear wheels in a longitudinal direction. The retractable lift mechanism includes a first linear actuator extending along the longitudinal direction and configured to transition the retractable lift mechanism between a stowed position and a deployed position. The second linear actuator and the third linear actuator extend generally along the longitudinal direction.

Abstract: A lift device includes a base, a retractable lift mechanism having a first end coupled to the base, a platform coupled to and supported by a second end of the retractable lift mechanism, and a steering system. The base includes a first wheel and a second wheel laterally spaced from the first wheel, and a third wheel and a fourth wheel laterally spaced from the third wheel. The third wheel and the fourth wheel are both pivotally fixed. The steering system includes a first electric actuator coupled to the first wheel and configured to independently control a steering direction of the first wheel, and a second electric actuator coupled to the second wheel and configured to independently control a steering direction of the second wheel.

  • Patent number: 11691662
Abstract: A steering system includes a first wheel and a second wheel spaced apart from the first wheel, a first tie rod, a second tie rod, and an electrical actuator. The first wheel is rotatably coupled to a first knuckle, and the first knuckle is pivotable about a first suspension post. The second wheel is rotatably coupled to a second knuckle, and the second knuckle is pivotable about a second suspension post spaced apart from the first suspension post. The first tie rod is coupled to the first knuckle and to a mechanical linkage. The second tie rod is coupled to the second knuckle and the mechanical linkage. The electrical actuator is coupled to the mechanical linkage so that movement of the electrical actuator translates the mechanical linkage axially, which adjusts the orientation of the wheels relative to the suspension posts.

The steering system includes a first tie rod having a first end pivotally coupled to the first knuckle and a second end pivotally coupled to a mechanical linkage, a second tie rod having a first end pivotally coupled to the second knuckle and a second end pivotally coupled to the mechanical linkage, and an electrical actuator coupled to the mechanical linkage. The mechanical linkage is arranged in front of the electrical actuator relative to a travel direction.

  • Publication number: 20210278042
Abstract: A leak containment system includes a mounting bracket, a tray, and a locking mechanism. The mounting bracket has a first rail, a second rail, and a panel extending between the first rails and the second rail. The panel is vertically offset from feet formed on the first rail, and a channel is defined by at least the first rail and an underside of the panel. The tray is removably received within the channel. The tray includes a bottom surface surrounded by perimeter walls that together define a fluid container. The perimeter walls include a front perimeter wall that extends upwardly above the other walls. The locking mechanism is coupled to the mounting bracket and is configured to selectively engage the front perimeter wall of the tray to restrict movement of the tray outward from the channel.

  • Publication number: 20210276849
Abstract: Systems and apparatuses an adjustable platform rail assembly. The adjustable platform rail assembly includes a lower rail assembly and an upper rail assembly. The lower rail assembly extends away from a platform of a mobile elevated work platform. The upper rail assembly is coupled to the lower rail assembly and extends upwardly away from the lower rail assembly to define a passenger compartment therein. The upper rail assembly is coupled to the lower rail assembly and is movable between a first position where the upper rail assembly defines an upper perimeter defined by a first length and a second position where the upper rail assembly defines an upper perimeter defined by a second length that is shorter than the first length.

  • Publication number: 20210139303
Abstract: A foldable rail assembly is coupled to a platform and includes vertical rails and a rectangular rail structure that is hingedly coupled to the vertical rails. The rectangular rail structure is rotatable about hinged couplings formed between the rectangular rail structure and the vertical rails, and movable between a first, deployed position and a second, folded position. The rectangular rail structure extends upwardly from the platform higher in the first position than in the second position.

  • Patent number: 10029898
Abstract: A pothole protection assembly is cooperable with a support base of a scissor lift. The support base includes front wheels, rear wheels and a chassis. The pothole protection assembly includes a pair of front pothole bars fixed to the chassis and each positioned adjacent the front wheels, respectively, and a pair of rear pothole bars fixed to the chassis and each positioned adjacent the rear wheels, respectively. A space between the front wheels and the rear wheels defines a ground clearance zone, where the front pothole bars and the rear pothole bars are disposed at opposing ends of the ground clearance zone. The assembly is constructed and arranged to maximize a breakover angle in a scissor lift with fixed pothole protection.
