  • Patent number: 12600222
Abstract: An electrified transfer case for a vehicle having an engine, a transmission, and front and rear drivelines is provided. The electrified transfer case includes a first output shaft adapted for connection to the rear driveline, a second output shaft adapted for connection to the front driveline, and an input shaft connected to the output of the transmission. The transfer case may further include a gear set engaged to an electric motor for torque multiplication, a multi-position torque transferring mode connection system, and a controllable torque transfer system between the first output shaft and the second output shaft. A synchronizing device is operatively connected between the input and first output shaft, which may utilize a one-way clutch.

  • Patent number: 12473971
Abstract: A transfer case includes a mainshaft with a drive gear rotationally fixed thereto, a combined oil device, and a lubricating pump driven by the drive gear, with the lubricating pump offset from the axis of the mainshaft. The transfer case includes a rear housing, where lubricating oil is drawn from a sump at the bottom of the transfer case. The pump pressurizes the oil and delivers the oil via passageways from the radially offset pump to an annular chamber of the combined oil device. The passageways may be provided in a manifold block that is fixed to the housing. The annular chamber surrounds the mainshaft and provides fluid into a central passage thereof. The combined oil device is axially between the drive gear and a rear extension of the rear housing, and includes a sealing ring that delimits the annular chamber and separates it from the rear extension.

  • Publication number: 20250332914
Abstract: An electrified transfer case includes an input shaft, an output shaft, an electric motor, a gear reduction unit, and an axially moveable sleeve that is disposed axially between the input shaft and the output shaft. The sleeve selectively engages the input shaft, output shaft, and gear reduction unit based on the axial positon of the sleeve to selectively transfer power among the input shaft, output shaft, and electric motor. The sleeve is freely rotatable and supported on a support shaft that spans between and is freely rotatable relative to the input shaft and the output shaft. The sleeve includes multiple axially spaced clutch teeth. As the sleeve is controllably axially moved, different clutch teeth will engage with the input shaft, output shaft, and/or gear reduction unit to drivingly connect the components for operating in different modes, including EV, hybrid, conventional, generator, and neutral modes.

  • Publication number: 20250305581
Abstract: An actuation system of actuating both a disconnect device and a park lock is provided. The system includes a motor actuator that drives an oil pump, with the same output of the motor actuator controlling the disconnect device and the park lock. The system includes a translator mechanism, which converts rotary movement of a selectable output shaft into linear movement of a lock collar. Rotation in the first direction sequentially engages the disconnect device and then the park lock, while maintaining the disconnect device in the connected state. Rotation in the second direction first disengages the park lock and then the disconnect device. The selectable output mechanism may be a selectable clutch that, when connected, transfers forward or backward rotary movement of the motor actuator output to shift the translator forward or backward.

  • Patent number: 12377804
Abstract: A transfer case includes a mainshaft, an oil distribution device, and a lubricating pump, with the lubricating pump having a pumpshaft offset from the axis of the mainshaft. The transfer case includes a rear housing in which the lubricating pump housing is disposed in radially offset location, where lubricating oil is drawn via suction to the pump housing from a sump at the bottom of the transfer case. The pump pressurizes the oil and delivers the oil via passageways extending between the radially offset pump and the oil distribution device, which surrounds the mainshaft. The passageways may be provided in a manifold block that is fixed to the housing. The manifold block may provide an anti-rotation feature to the oil distribution device, such that drag on the oil distribution device caused by rotation of the mainshaft is counteracted.
