  • Patent number: 6564659
Abstract: The present invention includes a first positioning assembly and a second positioning assembly respectively mounted on the bottom housing of the scanner. The first positioning assembly defines a first clamping groove, and the second positioning assembly defines a second clamping groove. A toothed belt is used to drive the chassis of the scanner to move reciprocally. The toothed belt includes a first end and a second end respectively locked in the first clamping groove of the first positioning assembly and the second clamping groove of the second positioning assembly. The toothed belt can be mounted directly, without having to additionally perform a working process, thereby reducing the machining processes, and thereby decreasing the cost of fabrication.

  • Publication number: 20030001331
Abstract: A link type paper tray structure includes a base, two movable racks, and a link mechanism. The base is provided for receiving paper. The link mechanism is mounted on the base. The link mechanism may be used to control movable racks mounted on the base to move reciprocally. Thus, the paper tray has a lower cost of fabrication, may efficiently reduce noise during use, and may facilitating operation.

  • Patent number: 6456412
Abstract: The optical system of a scanner comprising at least four reflecting mirrors, a focusing lens and an image sensor has its lens placed outside the area encircled by the reflecting mirrors so that the reflecting mirrors can be placed closer in the vertical direction. Thus, the vertical dimension of the scanner is made smaller.

  • Publication number: 20020118404
Abstract: The present invention provides a scanner including a housing defining two mounting holes. An elastic rib is located beside each of the two mounting holes to provide a retaining action. A paper cover is pivotally mounted on the housing and has two locking hooks. Each locking hook is mounted in a respective mounting hole of the housing. Thus, the height of the paper cover can be adjusted according to the variation of depth of the locking hook in the mounting hole. In addition, the locking hook is retained by the elastic rib and the catch plate of the mounting hole, such that the paper cover cannot be removed easily, thereby preventing the paper cover from being lost.

  • Publication number: 20020088935
Abstract: The invention includes at least one swingable elastic locking bar mounted on the chassis of the scanner, and the end of the elastic locking bar is provided with a contact member having a low friction coefficient, and let the contact member on the elastic locking bar contact the top cover of the frame body of the scanner. Thus, the chassis may be rigidly rested on the top cover or on the glass mounted on the top cover to move, thereby providing a good scanning effect of an arbitrary angle. The swingable action of the elastic locking bar may efficiently absorb the tolerance produced during fabrication and assembly of the top cover and the bottom housing of the frame body of the scanner, thereby assuring stability of the optical travel path.

  • Patent number: 6408162
Abstract: The elastic cover of a scanner has an elastic convex bottom plate to press against the paper to be scanned. The convex bottom plate has windows for air trapped in the duct of the convex bottom plate to flow out and press against the paper so that the paper does not fly when the cover is lifted.
