  • Patent number: 8210563
Abstract: A stroller includes a frame, a pivot joint assembly mounted on the frame, and a handle coupled to the frame at the pivot joint assembly. The handle rotates about a pivot axis defined by the pivot joint assembly between first and second positions relative to the frame. A latch assembly includes a projection and is movable between a latched state in which the latch assembly secures the handle in either the first position or the second position and a released state in which the handle is released for movement between the first and second positions.

  • Patent number: 6273451
Abstract: A stroller has a collapsible frame, a removable stand, a removable footrest assembly, removable front and upper trays, and a latch for maintaining the collapsible frame in the collapsed position. The stand is connected to the cross brace and the intermediate bar of the frame, and movable between an extended position when the stroller frame is in the collapsed position and a retracted position when the stroller frame is in the operating position. The stand includes a stand guide and an elongated member movable relative to the stand guide. The elongated member has a first C-shaped collar at one end thereof and a foot at the opposite end. The foot can engage the ground or support when the stand is moved to the extended position to keep the collapsed stroller in an upright position. The stand guide has a second C-shaped collar.

  • Patent number: 5408723
Abstract: A swivel wheel assembly which is easy to assemble and convenient for use includes a tube plug inserted into a tube leg, a pivot pin inserted into the tube plug and a rotary member rotatably secured on the pin. The rotary member supports a shaft and pair of wheels. By using a hard material for the pin, a softer material for the rotary member and a still softer material for the tube plug, friction is reduced. The plug, pin and rotary member are assembled without the use of fasteners. The rotary member includes a resilient flexible member with a key received in a circumferential groove of the pivot pin.

  • Patent number: 5144717
Abstract: A double wheel caster for being rotatably mounted on a leg of a transport carrier includes a support rod having a center portion and opposite first and second end portions. The center portion of the support rod is rotatably positioned within an opening located in a wheel caster trailing housing. A pair of caster wheels are rotatably positioned on the first and second end portions of the support rod. Each caster wheel has an aperture generally centrally located therethrough and a plurality of fingers extending radially inward and into engagement with the support rod such that the caster wheels are frictionally mounted on the support rod. Upon movement of the transport carrier in a direction which forces one caster wheel to rotate faster than the other, the frictional mounting inhibits the one caster from freely rotating with respect to the other to thereby prevent shimmying.
