  • Patent number: 7053259
Abstract: ?-Olefins are made in a modified plug flow reactor system by the oligomerization of ethylene using an iron complex of a selected diimine of a 2,6-pyridinecarboxaldehyde(bisimine) or 2,6-diacylpyridine(bisimine) as the oligomerization catalyst. The reactor is modified to add the iron complex at two or more points along the length of the plug flow reactor, the distance between addition points being dependent on the half-life of the active ethylene oligomerization catalyst.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: September 8, 2003
Date of Patent: May 30, 2006
Assignee: E. I. du Pont de Nemours and Company
Inventors: David A. Culver, Rinaldo S. Schiffino, Dewey Lynn Kerbow

  • Patent number: 6521724
Abstract: Processes for the polymerization of olefins in which late transition metal complexes, such as nickel, iron, cobalt and palladium complexes, are used as a polymerization catalyst have improved polymer productivity when oxidizing agents are present during at least a portion of the polymerization. The polymers produced are useful as elastomers, for packaging films, and molding resins.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: March 7, 2001
Date of Patent: February 18, 2003
Assignees: E. I. du Pont de Nemours and Company, Basell Technology Company B.V.
Inventors: Samuel David Arthur, Mark F. Teasley, Dewey Lynn Kerbow, Ofelia Fusco, Tiziano Dall 'Occo, Giampiero Morini

  • Patent number: 6300445
Abstract: A fluoropolymer comprising fluorinated vinyl ethers having cyanate or carbamate pendant functionality is disclosed. The fluoropolymer may further comprise at least one other fluorinated or non-fluorinated monomer. An article coated with said fluoropolymer is also disclosed.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: August 27, 1998
Date of Patent: October 9, 2001
Assignee: E. I. du Pont de Nemours and Company
Inventors: Ming-Hong Hung, Paul Douglas Brothers, Dewey Lynn Kerbow
  • Patent number: 6232372
Abstract: A composition comprising a plurality of multicomponent particles, one component of each of the particles being melt fabricable fluoropolymer and another component of each of the particles being a high temperature resistant non-dispersed polymer binder. The components of the particles are bound together by mechanical engagement, or alternatively, by chemical interaction. The composition is preferably in the form of a free-flowing powder which is not subject to segregation of component resins during shipping or processing.

  • Patent number: 5780552
Abstract: Particles of melt-fabricable fluoropolymer resin have functional units only in the particle shell.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: September 13, 1996

  • Patent number: 5756199
Abstract: Compounds containing polar functional entities can be grafted onto the surface of fluoropolymer powders to obtain grafted fluoropolymer powders having modified surface characteristics but without modifying the bulk of the polymer in the particle. The grafted fluoropolymer powder is effective in such uses as an adhesive to join dissimilar materials.
