  • Patent number: 8423325
Abstract: A plastic tolerance proofing tool adapted to be implemented with a computer system. The computer system includes a processor and a memory storing a CAD object of an apparatus to be manufactured with a material. The tool includes a criteria selector operable to prompt for and receive a type of plastic material for the apparatus to be manufactured in and an extractor operable to determine a nominal dimension and a related tolerance from the CAD object. The tool further includes a comparator operable to compare the tolerance with a first threshold and a second threshold, and a tagging module operable to tag the CAD object based on the comparisons.

  • Patent number: 7493892
Abstract: A self-damping fuel rail for a fuel-injected internal combustion engine includes an elongated tube defining a wall and having a longitudinal axis. The wall defines a fuel passageway and has a first wall portion movable between a first position bowed inwardly toward the longitudinal axis when the self damping fuel rail is in a non-operative state, and a second position moved outwardly away from the longitudinal axis when the self-damping fuel rail is in an operative state. The self-damping fuel rail also includes at least one fuel outlet configured to facilitate communication between the fuel passageway and a fuel injector.

  • Patent number: 7032575
Abstract: A fuel pump module includes a reservoir configured to hold a supply of fuel. The reservoir includes a fuel passageway and defines a first seat on a first side of the fuel passageway and a second seat on a second side of the fuel passageway. The module also includes a seal configured to be seated on the first and second seats to substantially seal the fuel passageway, and a weight biasing the seal toward the first and second seats by contacting the seal only at a location between the first and second seats. A gap may be defined between the weight and the seal, allowing fuel to enter the gap and further bias the seal toward the seats.
