Abstract: A receiver associated with a positioning system is provided. The receiver comprises a tracking loop and a signal strength calculating module. The tracking loop is configured for tracking a positioning signal and generating an in-phase signal and a quadrature signal based on the positioning signal. The signal strength calculating module is configured for calculating a first evaluation value and a second evaluation value related to the positioning signal based on the in-phase signal and the quadrature signal, respectively, and determining a status of the tracking loop based on at least one of the first evaluation value and the second evaluation value.

Abstract: A method for detecting a false lock of a carrier tracking loop is described. The method includes obtaining an average output of each of one or more loop discriminators in a predetermined time period when the carrier tracking loop works in a first mode; and determining whether the carrier tracking loop is falsely locked when the absolute value of the average output of any of the one or more loop discriminators is greater than a respective threshold associated with the corresponding loop discriminator. The carrier tracking loop comprises the frequency-locked loop and the phase-locked loop in the first mode. The one or more discriminator loops may include a frequency-locked discriminator loop, a phase-locked discriminator loop, or a combination thereof.

Abstract: A moving information determination apparatus includes an ECA (Earth Center Assistant) information acquisition module, an altitude information and position information storage module and a moving information calculation module. The altitude information and position information storage module provides initial position information of the moving information determination apparatus and altitude information of the moving information determination apparatus. The ECA acquisition module obtains a radius of the Earth at the current position of the moving information determination apparatus. The moving information calculation module calculates the current position and/or velocity of the moving information determination apparatus based on the radius of the Earth and a plurality of signals from a plurality of satellites.
