  • Publication number: 20230354124
Abstract: User equipment may include a transmitter and a receiver coupled to an antenna to enable the user equipment to transmit and receive user data with a base station of the wireless network. However, the user equipment may perform power-consuming searches to determine a base station for connection. Furthermore, the connection may be affected by blockages and transitions during mobility scenarios. As such, it may be beneficial for the user equipment to implement mobility procedures. For example, the user equipment may form links with multiple base stations of a cell cluster for transitioning. In another example, the wireless network may generate a map with locations of base stations and beam characteristics for the user equipment to determine coverage areas and decrease a number of transitions. Still in another example, the user equipment may receive blockage information to predict a blockage and implement mobility procedures to maintain wireless service during a blockage.

  • Publication number: 20230145333
Abstract: User equipment in close proximity may transfer data and control information. For example, the user equipment may exchange data or data sets between each other. Each user equipment can receive and transmit data using radio access technologies. A group of user equipments may include active user equipment and passive user equipment. Active user equipment connects with one or more base stations and transfers data on a wireless communication network via the base station. The active user equipment may communicate with other active user equipment and passive user equipment. Passive user equipment may not connect to any base station and/or the wireless communication network and may communicate with other passive user equipment and active user equipment (e.g., via a sidelink, peer-to-peer, or device-to-device channel).

  • Publication number: 20230099913
Abstract: A user equipment (UE) is configured to initiate a two-step random access channel (RACH) procedure to synchronize with a base station, initiate a fallback four-step RACH procedure after the two-step RACH procedure, configure a random access preamble transmission for the four-step RACH procedure, wherein configuring the random access preamble transmission comprises deriving a physical random access channel (PRACH) transmit power parameter value based on a parameter used to perform a transmission during the two-step RACH procedure and transmit the random access preamble for the four-step RACH procedure to the base station.
