    Abstract: An image having a plurality of image pixels and a reference image having a plurality of reference image pixels are provided. A plurality of difference values are generated as a function of the image pixels and the reference image pixels, and a plurality of adjustment values are generated as a function of the image pixels. The difference values are then adjusted by decreasing the magnitude of the difference values by the adjustment values. A temporally filtered image is then generated in accordance with the reference image pixels and the adjusted difference values.
