Patent number: 11930414Abstract: Hybrid use of dual policies is provided to improve a communication system. In a multiple access scenario, when an inactive user equipment (UE) transitions to an active state, it may be become a burden to a radio cell on which it was previously camping. In some embodiments, hybrid load balancing is provided using a hierarchical machine learning paradigm based on reinforcement learning in which an LSTM generates a goal for one policy influencing cell reselection so that another policy influencing handover over active UEs can be assisted. The communication system as influenced by the policies is modeled as a Markov decision process (MDP). The policies controlling the active UEs and inactive UEs are coupled, and measureable system characteristics are improved. In some embodiments, policy actions depend at least in part on energy saving.Type: GrantFiled: April 12, 2023Date of Patent: March 12, 2024Assignee: SAMSUNG ELECTRONICS CO., LTD.Inventors: Jikun Kang, Xi Chen, Di Wu, Yi Tian Xu, Xue Liu, Gregory Lewis Dudek, Taeseop Lee, Intaik Park

Publication number: 20220415076Abstract: This application discloses a three-dimensional human pose estimation method performed by a computer device. An initialization pose estimation result of a single video frame in a video frame sequence of n views is extracted based on a neural network model. Single-frame and single-view human pose estimation is performed on the initialization pose estimation result for each video frame, to obtain n single-view pose estimation sequences respectively corresponding to the n views. Single-frame and multi-view human pose estimation is performed according to single-view pose estimation results with the same timestamp in the n single-view pose estimation sequences, to obtain a multi-view pose estimation sequence. Multi-frame and multi-view human pose estimation is performed on a multi-view pose estimation result in the multi-view pose estimation sequence, to obtain a multi-view and multi-frame pose estimation result. Therefore, accuracy of human pose estimation is improved.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 1, 2022Publication date: December 29, 2022Inventors: Weidong CHEN, Wei ZHANG, Di KANG, Linchao BAO

Patent number: 11202587Abstract: The invention encompasses novel methods of operating electrochemical sensors such as aptamer-based sensors to analyze complex samples, such as flowing whole blood both in vitro or in vivo. In such environments, electrochemical sensors are often subject to drift, which complicates the interpretation of sensor output in terms of target concentration. The method of the invention utilizes a dual-reporter recognition element that generates a first, sensing current that is responsive to target binding and to environmental factors and a second, reference current that is only affected by environmental factors. The reference current provides information about environmentally-induced drift, which allows the drift effect to be subtracted out. By removing drift artifacts, electrochemical sensors may be deployed to analyze complex samples, such as whole blood, in vivo.Type: GrantFiled: September 25, 2017Date of Patent: December 21, 2021Assignee: The Regents of the University of CaliforniaInventors: Kevin Plaxco, Hui Li, Netzahualcoyotl Arroyo Curras, Di Kang, Francesco Ricci
