    Abstract: The invention relates to a method and a device for operating or controlling respiratory equipment. According to the invention, a respiratory gas source, which can be connected to a patient interface, is coupled to a control unit. The control unit is configured to specify at least two different respiratory modes. The various respiratory modes are determined, selected and used for at least some respiratory disorders according to a current patient-specific requirement. The control unit is configured to automatically execute the control operations.
