Abstract: Methods and apparatus for converting a date using spatial information. In one implementation, a method of converting date information using spatial information includes: storing date information in a storage format; receiving target spatial information; retrieving a target format indicator matching the received target spatial information, where the retrieved target format indicator indicates a target format based on a target calendar system; and converting the date information from the storage format to the target format.

Abstract: A method and apparatus receives customer feedback and analyzes words in the customer feedback. The words in the customer feedback are compared to rating data to generate an indication to rate the customer feedback. The rating data associates predefined words with respective values. In one arrangement, the rating data is according to a user-defined data type (UDT) stored in a relational table.

Abstract: A database system is accessible by a client system over a data network. In one arrangement, a server system is connected to the data network to receive requests from the client system. In response to the request, the server system issues corresponding queries to the database system to retrieve data. The data is then formatted by the server system and sent to the client system, where the formatted data is displayed, such as in a browser screen. The formatted data includes hyperlinks that are user selectable to retrieve further objects from the database system. When selection of the hyperlink is received, the client system sends a request to the server system, which retrieves the requested object or objects from the database system. The objects are communicated back to the client system for presentation.

Abstract: An inventory-management system includes data-collection terminals that acquire product-identification data identifying products placed on store shelves, product-placement data identifying the locations of the products in the store, and sales data providing information about sales of the products. The system also includes a database that receives and stores the product-identification, product-placement, and product sales data collected by the terminals. A database-query component queries the database to identify relationships between product sales and product placement.
