Abstract: An article that is especially suitable for cleansing skin is described which includes a foamable composition having the form of an elastic semi-solid gel and a fibrous layer made up of a continuous network of bonded fibers. The weight ratio of the foamable composition to the fibrous layer is in the range from about 30 to 1 to about 2000 to 1 and the foamable composition at least partially encompasses the fibrous layer.

Abstract: A cleansing article composed of a solid or semi-solid foamable composition and a batting layer with bonded fibers is described that provides the user with a pleasant personal cleansing experience and which in one embodiment combines cleansing, aesthetic and/or skin benefit with active agents and exfoliation. The user also experiences substantial lather during use of the cleansing article. The batting layer is at least partially encompassed by the solid or semi-solid foamable composition.

Abstract: A motorized personal skin care implement capable of use with a disposable, single-use, skin care pad is disclosed with a molded hook arrangement for releasably but firmly holding the pad while cleansing or treating the skin but allowing for quick removal and replacement with a fresh cleansing or treatment pad. A method of using the skin care implement and a kit containing at least one pad and the implement is also described.

The fibrous cleansing bar exhibits an enhanced release of hydrophobic organic benefit agents used to deliver sensory, skin care or other functional benefits.

The articles have a substantially red color defined by L*,a*,b* chromaticity values falling within a specific region of the CIE color space and exhibit a low tendency for discoloration in storage and use.

By including a network that has a CIE Lightness Value of less than about 50, especially an achromatic network, darkly colored cleansing articles can be provided that have minimum staining potential and exhibit good color stability during storage and use.

Abstract: A cleansing article is provided which includes a fibrous web of continuous network bonded fibers and a solid or semi-solid foamable composition joinably penetrating the web. The web has a first and second major surface each being on opposite faces of the web. The composition and web are present in a relative weight ratio ranging from about 30:1 to about 2000:1. At least a major portion of the first major surface of the web preferably being exposed above the foamable composition, and a majority of surfaces defining an exterior of the article are formed of the foamable composition.
