  • Patent number: 9135843
Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods and apparatus for driving a display array with a waveform having a plurality of voltage levels, wherein a first subset of the plurality of voltages is different from a second subset of the plurality of voltages by a defined amount. In one aspect, a display driver circuit comprises a power supply configured to generate the first subset of said plurality of voltages, and a charge pump having the first subset of the plurality of voltages as inputs and the second subset of the plurality of voltages as outputs. The charge pump may not include a switch between each output voltage and a corresponding capacitor.

  • Publication number: 20150035839
Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for providing positive and negative voltages using a single inductor. In one aspect, the apparatus includes a single inductor having a first end and a second end. The first end is coupled to a first switch and configured to connect to either a power source or a negative output node depending on the state of the first switch. The second end is coupled to a second switch and is configured to connect to either a ground potential or a positive output node depending on the state of the second switch. The apparatus further includes a controller adapted to configure the switches into one of a plurality of configurations at a time.

  • Publication number: 20140267207
Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for verifying actuation of an IMOD display element. In one aspect, a display apparatus is provided. The display apparatus includes an interferometric modulator (IMOD) display element coupled to a row electrode and coupled to a column electrode. The display apparatus further includes a driver circuit configured to apply voltage waveforms corresponding to image data to the row and column electrodes coupled to the IMOD display element to control actuation of the IMOD display element. The display apparatus further includes a detection circuit configured to detect actuation of the IMOD display element using the voltage waveforms.

  • Publication number: 20130321374
Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods and apparatus for voltage conversion. In one aspect, a voltage converter includes a first feedback loop monitoring one of two converter outputs of opposite polarity. The converter may further include a second feedback loop for monitoring a weighted sum of the two converter outputs of opposite polarity. In another aspect, a voltage converter may include level shifters for driving switches coupled to a boost inductor. The voltage converter may switch at least one voltage rail coupled to the level shifters from a first voltage level to a second voltage level.
