  • Patent number: 8066037
Abstract: A nozzle for dispensing fuel into a vehicle having a body portion and a spout extending from the body portion. The spout passes fuel from the body portion to a vehicle during refueling. The body portion includes a fuel flow control member for allowing or preventing fuel from passing through the body portion and the spout. A fuel collector collects fuel remaining in the body portion and the spout after the fuel flow control member shuts-off the flow of fuel through the body portion and the spout. Preferably, the fuel collector is configured to allow fuel collected in the fuel collector when the vehicle is being refueled to drain into the fuel tank of the vehicle after the flow control member prevents fuel from passing through the body portion and the spout but prior to removal of the spout from the fuel tank of the vehicle.

  • Publication number: 20080196981
Abstract: A sway reduction or dampening device operably engaging a wall adjacent an elevator car or floor of an elevator shaft, and receiving an elevator compensating cable is described. The device is made of two molded parts having an outer surface and inner surface with the inner surface for each part being complementary to each other to define a passage for a cable. The parts are made of molded material and include in one part molded rods which pass through corresponding openings in the other part. The two parts are held together through conventional securing elements such as nuts when the rods are threaded bolts. The nuts can be secured on the backside of a bracket to which the device is attached within an elevator shaft with an elevator cable passing therethrough.

  • Patent number: 7117978
Abstract: A dampening device for a compensating cable operably engaged with an elevator car is provided, wherein the compensating cable includes two linear portions connected by an arcuate portion. A first guide including at least one roller member is disposed within the arcuate portion and is configured to dampen oscillation of the compensating cable. At least one sensor device is disposed within the arcuate portion and is capable of operably engaging at least one of the compensating cable and the at least one roller member to sense an entanglement condition of the compensating cable. In some instances, at least one sensor device is disposed outside the arcuate portion, in addition to or instead of the at least one sensor within the arcuate portion, and capable of operably engaging the compensating cable to sense a suspension rope stretch condition. An associated system and method are also provided.

  • Patent number: 6234277
Abstract: A sway reduction device having a cable receiving section, the cable receiving section being formed of a shock-absorbing material and comprising a flexure portion and an aperture for receiving a cable therethrough. The sway reduction device also includes a mounting section with subsections and at least one mounting member for mounting the sway reduction device to a surface. The subsections are moveable generally toward and away from each other whereby the flexure portion is flexed when the subsections are moved away from each other for installing the sway reduction device around a cable.
