A parallel transmission on all the frequencies of the frames of useful signals and of frames of reference signals is performed, a frame of reference signals being inserted between two neighboring useful frames, and each reference signals being alternated with a useful signal in each frame of the reference signals. Such a method finds particular application to the digital transmission of speech.
