Abstract: A first bracket which is threadably engaged into the recess of the door lock in the face of the door, having a lip portion for receiving a tab thereinto; a second bracket threadably mounted into the recess on the jamb portion of the door, the bracket having a tab portion extending outwardly therefrom. In the use of the apparatus, the door is then moved to the closed position with the tab on the second bracket slidingly engaged into a slot within the first bracket, so that when the tab is manually bent into a position substantially parallel with the door, the door is maintained in the closed position. Upon completion of installation, the tab is straightened to its original position and the door is free to open.
