  • Patent number: 12595042
Abstract: A method for manufacturing a rotor assembly of an electric engine, comprising: loading a first and second plurality of magnets in a magnet insertion tool, loading a sleeve in the magnet insertion tool: performing an insertion movement of the first plurality of magnets with respect to the second plurality of magnets using the magnet insertion tool, wherein the insertion movement comprises: moving the first plurality of magnets in a radial direction of the sleeve; moving the second plurality of magnets in an axial direction of the sleeve; and expanding a radius of the sleeve in the radial direction using the magnet insertion tool during the insertion movement.

  • Patent number: 12384520
Abstract: A rotor assembly has a sleeve, a rotor hub, a lamination core, and a plurality of tapered magnets disposed circumferentially around an inner diameter of the sleeve. The plurality of tapered magnets are configured to abut on one another. The plurality of tapered magnets includes a first set of tapered magnets and a second set of tapered magnets. Insertion of the first set of tapered magnets axially relative to the second set of tapered magnets is configured to increase a diameter of the sleeve. The rotor hub is configured to retain at least one of the lamination core, the plurality of tapered magnets, or the sleeve.

  • Publication number: 20240413679
Abstract: One or more aspects of the present application relate to cooling management system implemented as part of an electric motor. Illustratively, the cooling management system corresponds to a sealed system/component that surrounding the motor stator magnetic core such that a cooling fluid is able to provide heat mitigation functionality during the operation of the AC induction motor, referred to generally as the electric motor. More specifically, illustratively, the cooling management system includes a reservoir configured to hold a cooling fluid, a pump configured to pump the cooling fluid, a heat exchanger configured to interact with the cooling fluid, and a sealed stator fluid jacket. The sealed stator fluid jacket further includes an over molded inner layer that defines an interior channel characterizing a space for the plurality of stator bars and that defines a plurality of flow channels for the flow of the cooling fluid.

  • Publication number: 20240116584
Abstract: Systems and methods for controlling a trailer. One example system includes a transceiver and an electronic controller coupled to the trailer and the transceiver. The electronic controller is configured to determine that a tractor has entered an area proximate to the trailer. The electronic controller is configured to determine that the tractor has mechanically coupled to the trailer. The electronic controller is configured to receive, via the transceiver, a command related to a component of the trailer. The electronic controller is configured to operate the component based on the command.
