Abstract: An auxiliary drive for a trailer comprises a carrier that can be moved in relation to a chassis, said carrier holding a drive motor which can be used to drive a wheel of the trailer. The carrier can be swiveled from a drive position to a rest position and vice versa by means of an actuation lever. The moving mechanism provided for transmitting the movement of the manual actuation element comprises an energy storage or a servo-drive in order to prevent the operator from having to exert high operating forces.
