  • Publication number: 20130233051
Abstract: A system including a channel; a particulate matter sensor disposed in fluid communication with the channel, the particulate matter sensor having a sensitivity that increases in response to exposure to particulate matter; and a controller coupled to the particulate matter sensor and configured to monitor the channel in response to the sensitivity of the particular matter sensor.

  • Publication number: 20050220261
Abstract: A fuel assembly for a boiling water reactor has a plurality of fuel rods which are mounted in a plurality of spacers disposed at a spacing distance from each other in the axial direction of the fuel element. At least one of the fuel rods has a reduced length. Deflection elements are arranged at least in the upper region of the fuel element in order to improve the dry-out behavior of the assembly. The fuel assembly further includes measures that reduce a loss of pressure caused in the upper region by the deflecting elements so as to improve thermo-hydraulic stability and the shutdown behavior.

  • Patent number: 6600800
Abstract: In a boiling water fuel assembly, some of the fuel rods are shortened. It is necessary to establish a sufficiently high maximum power for transition to boiling. To optimize this power, spacers are at a constant distance at a bottom and are at a shorter distance at a top. The spacers belonging to upper group have turbulence-generating vanes which, however, do not project above the shortened fuel rods.

  • Patent number: 6415091
Abstract: On a module carrier for digital communications technology modules, a guidance and support element for incoming and outgoing optical wave guides is arranged that is formed of two pieces, an LWL guidance and an LWL support element. An adjustable connector accomplishes the connection of both elements, whereby their position with each other is permitted to change.

  • Patent number: 5707234
Abstract: The invention provides a miniature capsule-like cartridge having a hollow elongated generally cylindrical body having an inner wall with a substantially uniform diameter. The inner wall encloses a chamber. One end of the body is open and formed at the extremity thereof with an annular circular exterior flange. The opposite end of the body is closed by an end wall. A discharge nipple integrally connected to the body and has a passageway therethrough extending from the chamber at the closed end of the body to facilitate discharge of a polymerizable dental composition from the cartridge. The nipple has an outer wall. The outer wall has a proximal diameter proximal to the body and a medial diameter at a medial position along the central axis of the nipple and medial to the body. The medial diameter is greater than or equal to the proximal diameter. A cup-shaped cap is removably connected to the discharge nipple on the body to close the opening of the passageway at the outer end of the nipple.

  • Patent number: 5262653
Abstract: In order to provide a device for the lateral scanning of napless areas of fabric webs which operates automatically with great accuracy and reliability even at high web speeds while being of relatively simple construction, it is proposed to cause the fabric web (7) to pass over a guide roller (11) and to cause the napless areas (9, 12) of the fabric web (7) to be scanned by means of photodetectors (2-6) consisting of transmitters and receivers, in which the scanning beams are directed tangentially to the guide roller (11) and thus to the fabric web (7) at its deflection point.
