  • Patent number: 9804278
Abstract: The invention relates to a radiometric measuring device for carrying out measurements in an explosion-prone area, which radiometric measuring device requires only little space at the measurement location and can be economically produced. The radiometric measuring device comprises a measuring unit (7) that can be used in the explosion-prone area. Said measuring unit comprises a scintillator (13), which converts radioactive radiation incident on the scintillator into photons, and a semiconductor detector (15), which is connected to the scintillator (13) and can be operated by means of an inherently safe energy supply and metrologically captures photons arising in the scintillator (13) and reaching the semiconductor detector (15), and converts said photons into electrical measurement signals. Explosion protection measures to be associated exclusively with the ignition protection class of the inherent safety are provided in the measuring unit.

  • Patent number: 4882801
Abstract: Electric toothbrush includes a hollow handle and a rotary brush. A gravity-induced movement responsive switch, such as mercury switch, is located within the handle, and a hand-operated switch is located on the outer surface of the handle. A user by operating a hand-operated switch sets the brush to a lower row of teeth or an upper row of teeth thus switching over an electromotor located within the handle whereas the mercury switch automatically reverses the direction of rotation of the electromotor shaft depending upon respective tilted positions of the handle. An intermediate element, for example a spur-gearing coupling is interconnected between the shaft of the motor and the brush.

  • Patent number: 4544816
Abstract: A switching arrangement for a rotating toothbrush which includes a rectangular casing accommodating the electric motor has a gravity switch provided in the housing and a switch actuated manually and provided externally on the housing. As a mercury gravity switch, a sensor is used, which consists of a tube closed at each end thereof and provided with a respective bottom portion at each end. Through each of the bottom portions at a lateral location, a conductor wire projects wherein through one of the bottom portions a further conductor wire projects whose forward portion within the tube is arranged at a distance to the wall of the tube and extends parallel to the conductor wires and leads almost to the end of the other bottom portion.
