  • Patent number: 10249071
Abstract: Provided are devices and methods for generating a view tile for a user interface. In one example, the method may include generating a top image layer comprising a plurality of transparent segments which are capable of representing a plurality of values based on which of the plurality of transparent segments are filled in with a color, generating a background color layer including the color, and overlaying the top image layer on the background color layer to generate a view tile representing a value from among the plurality of values. The generated view tile may provide a quick overview of an item with only a glance without requiring the viewer to read information in detail allowing the viewer to provide their attention to other activities.

  • Publication number: 20170091833
Abstract: A system includes a user interface simultaneously displaying an offer selection rule fragment area and a plurality of condition category rule fragment areas, and, in response to a first user selection of a first user interface control associated with the offer selection rule fragment area, displaying a plurality of offer selection rule fragments. The interface receives a second user selection of one of the plurality of offer selection rule fragments, and one or more parameters to associate with the selected rule fragment are received. The selected rule fragment of the selected offer selection rule fragment category and the associated one or more parameters are displayed in the offer selection rule fragment area of the user interface, and a selected rule fragment of a condition category and a second one or more parameters associated with the selected rule fragment of the condition category are displayed in the condition category rule fragment area of the user interface.

  • Publication number: 20040166371
Abstract: A magnetic recording disk has a ferromagnetic recording layer and a “paramagnetic” write assist layer in contact and exchange coupled with the ferromagnetic recording layer. The write assist layer is a ferromagnetic material that has a Curie temperature less than the operating temperature of the disk drive so that at operating temperature and in the absence of a write field, the write assist layer is in its paramagnetic state and has no remanent magnetization. When a write field is applied in a direction opposite to the magnetization in previously written regions of the ferromagnetic recording layer, the write assist layer exhibits a magnetization aligned with the write field and assists the write field in reversing the magnetization in the ferromagnetic recording layer due to the exchange coupling.

  • Patent number: 5600982
Abstract: In the control of the rolled product thickness in a roll stand, to suppress the influence of roll eccentricities, it is known to provide a dead zone which is insensitive to signal fluctuations caused by the roll eccentricities and to vary the zone width of the dead zone as a function of the magnitude of the signal fluctuations. In so doing, in order to increase the accuracy, the variation of the zone width (b) is carried out as a function of a continuous statistical evaluation of the signal fluctuations, the standard deviation (.sigma.) thereof preferably being determined.

  • Patent number: 5104811
Abstract: On a carrier layer there are arranged several test layers which are at least partly in fluid contact with one another, enabling liquid exchange. On the carrier layer are arranged an application zone, a detection zone for the production of a detectable signal characteristic of the analytical determination, which contains at least one said test layer which is a reaction layer, and an absorption zone with a test layer which is an absorptive layer of an absorbent material, wherein the reaction layer and absorption zone are positioned next to each other. Between the application and the absorption zone is a capillary-active transport path on the carrier layer which connects the application zone and the absorption zone. The reaction layer is arranged parallel to the transport path between the application zone and the absorption zone in such a manner that it is in liquid contact with a liquid transported in the transport path.
