  • Patent number: 9909601
Abstract: A motor control system includes a piston chamber and a piston assembly disposed within the piston chamber to move therein between first and second positions. A magnet is coupled to the piston assembly to move therewith and a sensor is axially mounted with respect to the piston assembly to generate a continuous output signal corresponding to a position of the magnet relative to the sensor. The motor control system also includes a controller for processing the output signal from the sensor to monitor continuously the position of the piston assembly within the piston chamber and for actuating the piston assembly to move in an upstroke toward the first position and in a downstroke toward the second position.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: November 16, 2010
Date of Patent: March 6, 2018
    Assignee: ILLINOIS TOOL WORKS INC.
Inventors: Dieter Bernhard Heerdt, David Michael Folmer

  • Patent number: 5655641
Abstract: The present invention generally relates to a clutch disc for a friction clutch, in which two identical cover plates are used, each of which has areas with different outside diameters, whereby the area with the larger diameter has the openings for fastening rivets for lining carriers and the openings for the location of balancing rivets, and the areas with the smaller diameter make it possible to have access with a tool for peening the rivet heads from the other side. The individual cover plates are also assembled to one another in mirror inversion.

  • Patent number: 4669595
Abstract: Clutch disc for a motor vehicle friction clutch comprises a hub and a disc part enclosing the hub and coupled with predetermined play in rotation but otherwise non-rotatably with the hub. Side discs on axially opposite sides of the disc part form one unit mounted on the hub rotatably through a limited first angle relative to the disc part. The disc part is coupled rotationally elastically with the hub through at least one spring of an idling vibration damper. Several springs of an under-load vibration damper, arranged in windows of the disc part and of the two side discs, couple the side discs rotationally elastically with the disc part. The under-load vibration damper comprises a friction device having two control discs arranged on axially opposite sides of the disc part between the disc part and one each of the two side discs. The control discs are connected non-rotatably with one another.
