  • Patent number: 5306229
Abstract: The articular bandage of elastic bandaging material renders possible a selective transversal friction massage for the speedier rehabilitation of the joint functions of injured joints, such as knee joints, ankle joints, elbow joints, shoulder joints and wrists and, in an applied state, has a pad acting upon the joint which is constructed in the form of a pressure pad (20) which possesses a configuration determined by the bony prominences and tendon attachments of the joint and is constructed in the form of a shaped member from a soft-elastic material, in which at least one friction core of a hard or incompressible material is disposed and is fixed in its position in the material of the shaped member (21 FIG. 1).

  • Patent number: 5293865
Abstract: An anesthetics monitoring device includes an anesthetic vaporizer, from which the anesthetic can be supplied to a setting device supplying dosed amounts of anesthetic to an anesthetics device for dispensing the anesthesia to a patient. The device has a coding for the unmistakable assignment of the setting device to the type of anesthetic used. An automatic recognition of the anesthetic used and a setting to a metering and control unit for dispersing the anesthetic is guaranteed. Any incorrect metering and incorrect setting is prevented. For this purpose, the coding is brought into an operative connection with a receiver provided between the setting device and the anesthetics dispersing device. The receiver is equipped with a scanning apparatus which is connected to the metering and control dispensing unit by means of signal transfer lines.

  • Patent number: 5260133
Abstract: A UV-curable composition suitable for coating polycarbonate molded articles is disclosed. Accordingly the composition containsA) from 10 to 100% by weight of a polysiloxane which contains epoxy groups and is free from OH groups, and optionallyB) from 0 to 90% by weight of compounds other than A) which also contain epoxy groups and are free from OH groups, and/or optionallyC) from 0 to 40% by weight of compounds which are free from epoxy groups but contain hydroxyl groups, where components A)+B)+C) add up to 100% by weight, together withD) from 0.1 to 15% relative to the weight of A+B+C of photoinitiators and optionallyE) from 0 to 0.5% relative to the weight of A+B+C of sensitizers. In accordance with the invention , the composition is applied to the moldings of thermoplastic polycarbonates and then cured.

  • Patent number: 5204930
Abstract: Optical fibres, and a process for their production, are described which comprise tubular plastic cladding and a core of a polymer whose refractive index is at least 1% greater than that of the cladding material. The core is obtained from a polymerisable mixture which comprises compounds containing epoxy groups, of which at least 10% by weight are siloxanes containing epoxy groups.

  • Patent number: 5185000
Abstract: Apart from an intermittent massage on the soft tissue surrounding the medial and lateral malleolus, the ankle joint bandage renders possible a deep-acting transverse friction on the attachment of the Achilles tendon; it consists of an anatomically configured tubular body (11) which is provided with a lower section (16) forming an outsole (16a) and which, in the applied state, embraces half the foot and extends to the calf, while, within the area of the outsole (16a), half a heel (18) is knitted in and which is provided with two anatomically asymmetrically constructed pressure pads (20) located above the paraachillory soft tissue and which, at the medial and at the lateral malleolus, cover the region above Bisgaard's link, each pressure pad being constructed in the form of a shaped member (21) having a lateral rounded-off indentation (27) for accommodating the bony prominence of the ankle, which consists of a soft or soft-elastic material, in which, within the shaped member (21), a rod-shaped friction core (30

  • Patent number: 4974234
Abstract: A process and circuit for measuring the jitter modulation of a digital signal in which first pulses, which are derived from certain pulse flanks of the jitter-associated digital signal, and second pulses of a jitterfree reference clock pulse, which are derived from the bit repetition frequency of the jitter-associated digital signal, are subjected to a phase comparison. A reference clock pulse is generated with a pulse-repetition frequency nf.sub.B =f.sub.T corresponding to a multiple n of the bit repetition frequency f.sub.B of the digital signal and each bit period with a duration T.sub.B =1/nf.sub.B is divided into n partial periods each having a duration t=T.sub.B /n=1/nf.sub.B. The ramp generator (5) is started upon the application of a release signal once in each bit clock period p partial periods after the end of that partial period in which appears the predetermined pulse flank of the digital signal (DS), where p=0, 1, 2, . . . <n.

  • Patent number: 4817414
Abstract: A measuring arrangement for detecting the level of combustible gases mixed with air such as methane in air includes a measuring sensor responsive to the heat-conductivity of the proportion of the gas to be detected. The effect of the ambient temperature on the heat-conductivity measurement is eliminated through a simple circuit configuration consuming low power for a measurement of heat-conductivity alone as well as for such a measurement in combination with a reaction-heat measurement. For this purpose, the heat-conductivity sensor is connected to a constant-current source. A measuring takeoff circuit for the heat conductivity is connected in parallel to the heat-conductivity sensor and is provided in the form of a series circuit including a measuring signal terminal and a compensating voltage source.

  • Patent number: 4370617
Abstract: In order to extract from a digital signal a train of sync pulses faithfully reproducing any phase jitter to which that signal is subjected, a pulse generator with a cadence equal to the reciprocal of the mean bit period is interrupted and restarted by a pulse shaper such as a monoflop in response to each incoming "1" bit. The pulse generator may comprise a second monoflop, triggerable by the first monoflop and provided with a feedback loop including a third monoflop which is inhibited by the first one in the presence of a "1" bit, or a free-running oscillator working into a frequency divider in the form of a pulse counter which is reset by the pulse shaper while the latter inhibits the oscillator.
