  • Patent number: 4983066
Abstract: In a form-fitted connection for transferring moments of torque between two sheet metal elements of a vehicle, particularly a seat of a motor vehicle, both elements have respective tooth gaps (12) formed by bent tongues between any two successive teeth (5) in the area of their edge zones to be connected with each other, into which tooth gaps the respective teeth (5) of the other element (1) engage. At least on the one of the two elements to be secured against sliding in the longitudinal direction relative to the other element (1), at least one of the teeth (5) is bent in the same direction as its adjacent tongues into a position where it engages behind the other element (1).

  • Patent number: 4781363
Abstract: A vibration isolator is formed with a spring mechanism and a fluid transmion mechanism interposed between a vibrating member and a support member. The fluid transmission mechanism includes a primary fluid chamber and a secondary fluid chamber, with the secondary fluid chamber being deformed to a greater extent than the primary fluid chamber as a result of vibrations. An inertia mass operatively associated with the secondary fluid chamber is displaced as a result of vibrations and is thereby accelerated with a resulting inertia force causing fluid pressure change in the fluid transmission mechanism which compensates as a dynamic force the dynamic portion of the spring force transmitted from the spring mechanism to the support member.

  • Patent number: 4749231
Abstract: In a back rest for a vehicle seat, the upholstery support is provided at least in one upper corner area in its front side with an opening to form a receptacle for a belt retraction device, which receptacle is open toward the front and closed at the rear by a back wall lying behind and spaced from the front side. An upper and a lower wall, which form the top and bottom of the receptacle, are connected with the front wall and/or the back wall and are spaced from each other so as to allow the receptacle to receive the belt retraction device without play. Form-fitting, overlapping restraining elements on the upper wall and the facing upper side of the belt retraction device, as well as on the back wall and the facing back side of the belt retraction device, together with a connecting element that engages the underside of the belt retraction device, secure the retraction device against being moved out of the receptacle.

  • Patent number: 4619349
Abstract: A vibration isolator (1) with two degrees of freedom works according to the nti-resonance principle. The vibration isolator is arranged, for example, between a first body, such as a helicopter frame 13, and a second vibration generating body such as a rotor-transmission unit 12 vibrating at a predominant frequency. A spring arrangement (2) is connected to the attachment points (14, 15) for the first and second bodies. The spring arrangement works in conjunction with a pendulum rod (3) which is attached to the two bodies (12, 13) by spherical pivot bearings (5, 10). The vibration isolator has a compact construction and a low characteristic damping since the spring arrangement includes several relatively small semi-circular or spiral-shaped wound leaf springs (7-1 to 7-4) which extend between an inner ring (4) and an outer ring (6). The pendulum rod is held in a spherical pivot bearing (5) in the inner ring, and a further spherical pivot bearing (10) is connected by a flange (9) to the outer ring.

  • Patent number: 4589675
Abstract: A hydraulic support system has a first expandable chamber which is subjected to a constant pressure sufficient for compensating the static load. Two further chambers assigned to equally larger effective surface areas of pistons can be subjected to different pressures by means of a regulating and change-over device to cause active compression and rebound and a return to a middle position.

  • Patent number: 4341415
Abstract: This invention is directed to a vehicle structure that provides for flexible seat rearrangement capability in which the second of two rows of tandem, rotatable seats are mounted on rails. The rails for one of the second rows of seats are parallel with the longitudinal axis of the vehicle. The rails for the other of the second row seats extend across the vehicle at an angle of about 60.degree. to the vehicle's longitudinal axis. These angularly disposed rails, moreover, extend to the front of the longitudinal rails.

  • Patent number: 4334825
Abstract: The neck of a hingeless helicopter rotor wing blade is provided with a damping device effective to dampen lead-lag movements of the rotor wing blade. For this purpose the damping device comprises at least two stiff plates secured to opposite sides of the blade neck by a plurality of elastomeric members glued or bonded to the respective stiff plate and to the blade neck at spaced intervals. The difference of deformation between the stiff plates and the blade neck causes a deformation of the individual members in directions substantially across the longitudinal blade direction (in lead-lag plane). The spacings between adjacent members are located where the damping action is inherently low.

  • Patent number: 4301739
Abstract: A vehicle adapted to be externally guided mechanically along guide tracks, especially for public local passenger service, which includes a steerable vehicle axle provided with steerable wheels and with maximally bending resistance supporting arms arranged at wheel hubs of the steerable wheels and extending unilaterally forwardly in the driving direction of the vehicle. A transverse guide arrangement is disposed at the forward ends of the supporting arms so as to provide for an automatic track-side influencing of the turning angle of the steerable wheels. A motor is fixedly mounted in a zone of a hub of a steering wheel so as to be capable of operatively acting upon the steering wheel. The motor, when an output part thereof is at a quasi-stand still, is capable of exerting a torque on the steering wheel which torque can be freely selected in its effective direction.

  • Patent number: 4141952
Abstract: A plurality of mold pairs together forming an array having an outer surface and each having a mold cavity and an inlet between a respective cavity and the surface is continuously rotated past the end of a generally stationary nozzle so as sequentially to align the inlets with the nozzle end. A plastified and hardenable resin is continuously fed under pressure to the nozzle end which is spaced from the surface of the mold array by a predetermined constant distance. Thus resin material continuously exits from the nozzle. When the nozzle is aligned with an inlet opening this material enters the inlet opening and forms a body therein and a sprue integral with the body. When the end is not aligned with the inlet the material escapes laterally from between the end and the surface and forms on the surface a generally continuous film unitary with the sprues. The mold pairs are sequentially opened and closed on successive spaced-apart locations of a wire before and after the molding thereon of the bodies.

  • Patent number: 4127982
Abstract: A plurality of elongated elements is maintained at a distance from one another by a spacing element, joined together at an inlet nipple, and twisted in the same twisting direction at a constant twisting speed by a twisting head located downstream of the inlet nipple, to emerge from the twisting head through an outlet nipple. The distance of the spacing element from the inlet nipple is cyclically varied by displacing the spacing element at a displacement speed which is lower than the advancement speed of the elements. The displacement speed is increased to the advancement speed during the displacement of the spacing element from a terminal position of a trajectory of displacement of the separating element which is more remote from the twisting head than the other terminal position, in a section of the trajectory having a length which is a predetermined fraction of the length of the trajectory.
