Abstract: An apparatus comprising two lateral guide devices guiding the paper web at the longitudinal edges of the endless paper web, and a deflection means is provided. With the aid of the deflector the paper web is deflected at least once from its direction of movement to increase the stiffness of the paper web while the paper web is moving between the lateral guide devices. Because of that, the paper web is prevented from ascending the lateral guide devices and a damage to the paper web is avoided when the paper web comes into lateral contact with the lateral guide device.

Abstract: The invention relates to the construction and arrangement of wall components which are to be attached to the posts and spars of a basic frame for machines, instruments, equipment and the like. These wall components extend from the middle of one post to the middle of another and are supported on the upper faces of the posts and the spars between them by their folded upper web. The side edges of the web extend to approximately the middle of the face of the post and then run obliquely inwards. A section covering the posts at the top is recessed where the web is supported. Running around the inside edge of the wall component there is a frame-like spacer, the depth of which determines the distance by which the outer wall of the wall component projects beyond the outside of the post.

Abstract: An electrophotographic copier includes a replaceable photoconductive sheet having a leading edge portion and a trailing edge portion; a guide drum rotatably supported by a drum shaft and having a holding device for securing the leading sheet edge to the guide drum; a charging station, an illuminating station, a developing station, a transfer station and a conductive sheet cleaning station arranged in a circumferential distribution about the guide drum. The leading edge of the photoconductive sheet is attached to the guide drum and, upon rotation of the guide drum, a pressing roll, brought into engagement with the guide drum by a control mechanism, presses the trailing edge of the photoconductive sheet on the leading edge, as a result of which, by means of an interposed adhesive, the photoconductive sheet is bonded together to form an endless band about the guide drum.

Abstract: A cleaning device for wiping the cylindrical face of a roll supported for rotation has an elongated frame comprising a plurality of elongated support webs oriented at an angle to one another in a star-like configuration; a cleaning felt secured about the frame and supported by the free longitudinal edges of the support webs; pressing levers movably supported adjacent the roll and including a frame supporting arrangement for rotatably holding and positioning the frame at opposite ends thereof, parallel to the axis of the roll; and a spring connected to the pressing levers for urging the pressing levers towards the roll for pressing the frame against the roll into a working position. The cleaning felt is divided into a plurality of cleaning felt portions by any two neighboring free longitudinal edges. In the working position, one of the cleaning felt portions is urged into a shape-conforming engagement with the cylindrical face of the roll along the length thereof.
