  • Patent number: 8432815
Abstract: A packet-oriented mobile radio transmission system takes account of a packet utilization level that indicates how much of the maximum amount of payload information that can be transmitted is used for transmission. Such packet utilization level is a function of the packet type. A packet type that is suitable in the respective reception conditions is selected at the receiving end as a function of a variable that is characteristic of the integrity of the received data, and of the packet utilization level. At the transmission end, the packet type is switched as a function of the selection result.

  • Patent number: 7746958
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a receiver for a wire-free communication system for reception of a received signal which is modulated using a digital modulation method having a first frequency conversion device for production of a frequency-converted received signal by conversion of the received signal to an intermediate frequency. The receiver further includes a pre-filter for production of a filtered received signal from the frequency-converted received signal such that the received signal is band-limited, and an analogue/digital converter for production of a binary received signal from the filtered received signal by comparison of the filtered received signal with a level threshold.

  • Publication number: 20100014613
Abstract: A detector for zero crossings and a counter which is connected to it are used to determine the time intervals between the zero crossings of the received signal or of an intermediate-frequency signal which is produced from the received signal, and for detection of the digital signal data. In this case, a sequence of determined zero crossing intervals can be stored in digital form in a shift register chain, and can be compared in a classification device with previously stored interval sequences. Furthermore, a frequency offset can be determined by averaging the zero crossing intervals and can be compensated for by suitable selection or modification of the previously stored interval sequences, in which case the latter can also be used during the synchronization phase. The synchronization process may, furthermore, be assisted by payload data identification.

Abstract: A detector (1) for zero crossings and a counter (2) which is connected to it are used to determine the time intervals between the zero crossings of the received signal or of an intermediate-frequency signal which is produced from the received signal, and for detection of the digital signal data. In this case, a sequence of determined zero crossing intervals can be stored in digital form in a shift register chain (3), and can be compared in a classification device (4) with previously stored interval sequences. • Patent number: 7099641
Abstract: A receiver circuit for a mobile radio receiver has a controllable amplifier with a variable gain level, an analog-digital converter stage, a digital filter configuration for the purpose of channel selection and a signal strength estimator. The signal strength estimator is connected downstream of the filter configuration in the signal path and has the purpose of determining the signal strength in the selected user signal. The amplifier is controlled in dependence on the user-channel signal strength determined by the signal strength estimator.

  • Patent number: 6728321
Abstract: A receiving device for angle-modulated signals performs the channel selection in a digital manner rather than an analog manner. A receive signal is preferably initially converted to an intermediate frequency band, filtered and A/D converted. The receive signal is subsequently converted to the baseband and channels are selected in a digital manner through the use of a digital complex multiplier before the receive signal component of the selected transmission channel is demodulated and the corresponding symbols are detected through the use of a differential demodulator.

  • Patent number: 5130943
Abstract: In a method and configuration for improving the dynamic range of an adaptive recursive network for processing discrete-time signals, gradient signals are formed from output signals of the network with respect to network parameters. The output signals of the network are compared with set-point signals to form differential signals. Signals of a signum function of the gradient signals are formed. The signals of the signum function are multiplied with the differential signals to form correction signals proportional to the product of the signals of the signum function and the differential signals.
