  • Patent number: 5134264
Abstract: A device for induction heating of the inside of cylinder liners of reciprocating-piston engines to a transformation temperature, for the purpose of hardening. An inductor head is equipper with an aligning device designed as a spreadable cage which is equipped on the outside with clamping bars, clamping bosses a clamping shells which can be applied free from play and under the effect of force against the inner surface of the cylinder liner. The inductor loop is also displaced radially and brought into the working position by means of these clamping shells. Heating and hardening is carried out only with the inductor head in the clamped and exactly aligned state, whereas, after the clamping shells and the inductor loops have been released, a further indexed movement of the inductor head is possible. The work is carried out at relatively high alternating-current frequencies in the range between 400 and 500 kHz and at relatively high energy densities in the range above 5 kw/cm.sup.2 .

  • Patent number: 4921406
Abstract: The invention relates to a mechanical vacuum pump having a displacement member (2) and a casing (1) which is provided with an inlet channel (3) on the suction side and an outlet channel (4) on the discharge side. A spring-loaded non-return flap valve (5) is incorporated into the outlet channel (4). Upstream of this flap (5), a gas jet pump (7, 8) is installed in the outlet channel (4), the jet direction being parallel to the sealing surface of the non-return flap valve (5).This gas jet pump allows to significantly increase the final vacuum of the mechanical vacuum pump and to improve the cooling of the pump.

  • Patent number: 4806074
Abstract: A molecular high-vacuum pump has a bell-shaped rotor 5 including a shaft supported by roller bearings 12, 13 disposed inside the bell rotor. The stator 1, 6 defines two converging pumping stages, one in cooperation with the inner cylindrical surface 10 of the rotor and the other in cooperation with the outer cylindrical surface 9 of the rotor. The suction inlet 3 is disposed in the apex area 4 of the bell rotor. The discharge outlet 11 of the pump is disposed in the vicinity of the lower rim of the bell, and both pumping stages transfer gases towards this rim. In this way, gases introduced through the inlet 3 into the pump cannot penetrate into the motor space 15 and damage the bearings of the pump.

  • Patent number: 4745618
Abstract: An optically stable resonator producing a laser beam which by the use of a converging and of a diverging optical element is subdivided into an amplifier part with large beam diameter and small energy density and into a mode filter part with small beam cross section and correspondingly small Fresnel number all with a short structural length of the resonator. The advantage of the present invention resides in the high beam quality of the produced beam which contains predominantly only the fundamental mode, and in the small thermal load of the participating elements, especially of the decoupling window. The subdivision of the stable resonator according to this invention into an amplifier part and into a load filter part opens up to this resonator type power output ranges which were precluded heretofore by reason of a maximum permissive thermal load of the decoupling window.
