  • Publication number: 20120093524
Abstract: A method of printing an image onto a sheet in a printer having at least one print module and a transport arrangement defining a transport path for transporting sheets through the at least one print module is shown. In accordance with the method, a series of constant frame clock signals is generated and a sheet is approximately feed into a frame along the sheet transport path in accordance with the frame clock signal, wherein the frame defines a virtual desired sheet position, which moves with a predetermined speed along the sheet transport path. The sheet is transported along the sheet transport path, an in-track position of the sheet in the sheet transport path is detected and it is determined whether the in-track sheet position matches the frame within predetermined limits.

  • Patent number: 7976009
Abstract: The invention relates to a method of controlling sheets in a digital printing machine, wherein the arrival of at least one sheet in a transport path is detected at least once at at least one marked location of said transport path to improve the control of the sheets themselves during the printing operation. This is achieved in that at least one signal having a countable pulse is generated, in that a freely selectable but then fixed start of these pulses is assigned to the position of at least one frame (occupiable field) of frames—into which the minimum of one transport path segment is divided—relative to said marked location, and in that the minimum of one sheet is controlled with the use of this pulse at at least one other marked location of the transport path.

  • Publication number: 20070274750
Abstract: The invention relates to a method of feeding sheets of printing material in a printing machine, preferably a digital printing machine, on a continuous loop transport means, in particular, a transport belt, which has at least one dead space section, specifically a seam, and which is preferably included in a transport path which permits the alternate selection between simplex printing and duplex printing, in which case it has been taken into account that a region, preferably the leading edge of a respective sheet on the transport means, is detected for the control of a printing process by means of a detecting device. The present invention is to solve the problem of making optimal use of space for sheets on the transport means, while avoiding detecting device errors caused by the dead space section. This problem has been solved by the present invention in that, when a sheet is fed, said sheet's region to be detected is prevented from entering into the dead space section of the transport means.

  • Publication number: 20060013468
Abstract: A method and control device for determining a register error, whereby at least one register mark is printed and at least one sensor records the register mark, whereby the sheet edge of the sheet is recorded by the sensor, and the register error is determined from the sensor data and the target data.

  • Publication number: 20020060416
Abstract: The invention relates to a process for alignment of sheet material (1) which is processed in a machine which processes sheet material (1). To do this the sheet material (1) is aligned into one conveyor plane (9) laterally and with respect to its twisting (6) with reference to its conveyor direction (22). The position of the sheet material (1) in the conveyor plane (9) is always acquired at a point (35) on one side edge (24) of the sheet material with a position which is defined to the reference edge (23) of the sheet material (1).
