  • Patent number: 5225030
Abstract: A device for heated wedge pressure draw welding of separating seams of a composite plastic profiled hollow section. The device is drawn through the hollow chamber of a plastic profiled hollow section, in the course of which heating bars plasticize the seam walls of the separation seams and the plastic welding wires needed for welding. The plasticized plastic welding wires are pressed into the plasticized separation seams by press elements as the device is continuously drawn through the plastic profiled hollow section by a drawing device and a drive motor, the speed of which can be controlled.

  • Patent number: 5183524
Abstract: A device for insertion of a plastic pipe section into a shaped plastic piece for welding in accordance with a heating element method. Two carriages, which each have a clamping element, are positioned on a base frame and can be displaced with respect to each other with a setting device. A heating device is pivotal, into and out of position between the two clamping elements with the clamped plastic pipe section and the clamped shaped plastic piece, by using levers pivotally mounted on the base frame. The heating device has a setting element with a cupped section for placing over the plastic pipe section and a cylindrical section for insertion into the shaped plastic piece. Universal use, requiring no set-up time, of the device for different diameters is achieved with the heating device having a plurality of different heating elements, each with a cupped and a cylindrical section.

  • Patent number: 5124533
Abstract: A heating device for a welding jig having two guide arms for welding together plastic pipe comprises two semi-circular electrical heating plates joined at one end by a pivotal or adjustable connection. Both ends of the heating plates have recesses for receiving the two guide arms when the heating device is in its closed position, enclosing the plastic pipes to be welded. The non-pivotally or non-adjustably connected ends of the heating plates are held together by a quick-release closure, such as a toggle catch, when the heating device is in its closed position.

  • Patent number: 4944626
Abstract: An apparatus having two slide supports, adjustable with respect to one another, which have attachment surfaces for attaching two holding devices. The balance of the holding devices attached to the attachment surfaces of the slide supports are compensated by having the slide supports each divided into a slide support base plate and an attachment plate with the attachment surface. The attachment plates are connected in a limited adjustable manner with the slide support base plates under spring tension using spring-stressed bolts oriented perpendicular relative to the attachment surfaces. The attachment plate of the first slide support is adjustable in a limited manner through use of an adjustment bolt oriented perpendicular relative to the direction of adjustment of the slide supports on the coordinated slide support base plate.

  • Patent number: 4801349
Abstract: The invention is a method and apparatus for butt-welding two adjoining plastic tubular members which are held in axially adjustable mountings and which are joined together under axial pressure after heating in the area of their juncture by means of electric heating elements. Welding without formation of an interior bead is made possible with the invention by inserting into the plastic tubular members, prior to heating, a bolster which bridges the juncture and fits flush against the inside curvature of the plastic tubular members, and by applying in the area of the juncture shell-shaped heating elements to the outside of the plastic tubular members to heat the abutting ends of the plastic tubular members from the outside.

  • Patent number: 4735530
Abstract: An apparatus for simultaneously milling the surfaces of two plastic pipe sections facing one another, aligned parallel to one another, and mounted on a metal pipe. The plastic pipe sections may be milled on the metal pipe since the apparatus is provided with a spur gear having a recess and connected to two circular milling disks having congruent recesses and milling cutters, and arranged on both sides of a forked housing. In a specified angular position, the recess of the spur gear and the recesses of the milling disks form a U-shaped seat which merges in a semicircular end. The rotational axes of the spur gear and the milling disks coincides with the center of the semicircular end of the seat, and the width of the seat is greater than the maximum outer diameter of the metal pipe and smaller than the minimum inner diameter of the plastic pipe sections.
