Abstract: A woven or non-woven fabric is coated on both sides with a plastic material, followed by a vapor-deposited metal coating having a specific surface resistivity of 0.5 to 1.5 ohms per square, and then with a paint layer having a pattern of small areas of green and large areas of white to imitate a winter landscape and comprising a binder which is transparent in the spectral regions of atmospheric windows II (3-5 .mu.m) and III (8-15 .mu.m).

Abstract: A camouflage material with wide-band effect ranging from the visible portion of the spetrum, the IR region of the spectrum from 1 to 20 micrometers, as well as the radar region from 3 GHz to 3,000 GHz, consisting of at least a base layer with a vapor deposited metallic reflecting layer having a surface resistivity of 0.1 to 10 ohms per square and a camouflage paint layer applied thereon, the pigments of which have reflectivity that is similar, in the visible and near infrared portions of the spectrum, to that of the natural background, for example, to chlorophyll. In order to insure that such a camouflage material provides secure protection against detection by thermal imaging apparatus, even in the far IR region of the spectrum, without reducing the protective effect in the visible and near IR region of the terrestrial thermal radiation as well as in the radar region, the camouflage paint contains a binder that has good transparency in the spectral regions of the atmospheric windows II (3-5 .mu.

Abstract: An arrangement for camouflaging military targets in the spectral range of electromagnetic radiation from ultraviolet light to radar waves by contrast reduction between target and background. Emission and/or remission contrast of the target towards the natural background is reduced by applying camouflaging nets which are provided with a specially cut garnishing made of a compound texture in which each single layer affects part of the total electromagnetic spectrum. The layers are arranged so that the camouflaging effect of a single layer does not destroy the others. The reduction of the temperature contrast between target and background of warm or hot targets is achieved by means of heat-reduction carpets. The reduction of temperature contrast of objects currently producing heat is achieved by additionally blowing off hot gases that are surrounded by laminar flows of cold air in special channels where warming up of the camouflaging set-up itself by the hot gases is avoided.

Abstract: A support net is covered on each side with a carrier web having an external metal IR-reflecting coating and superposed thereon a protective coating which is substantially transparent to infrared radiation. The metal coatings and the protective coatings are thin enough to be substantially permeable to water vapor. The support net carries the load and allows water vapor to pass through because of its open net-like structure.

Abstract: A camouflage material whose convective heat exchange pattern simulates the thermal properties of a natural background and having a non planar surface comprising a mesh support, a conductive layer on said support and an outer layer on said conductive layer containing metallic material and having an emissivity in the wave length of far infrared of about 20 to 70% and wherein said outer layer comprises a synthetic foam layer.

Abstract: Heat reflecting wall covering comprising a carrier substrate having a discontinuous metal layer thereon produced by (1) providing a brittle coating under the metal layer and then breaking up the same to also break-up the metal layer; or (2) selectively etching the metal layer to avoid any large electrically conductive areas; or (3) spraying the metal layer through a mask, such as wire mesh to obtain high ohmic resistance and subsequently covering with a veneer protection coat and a veneer coat.

Abstract: A cover-substrate support material is provided with a layer reflecting thermal radiation preferably between 5 and 25 micron wavelength and there is deposited thereon a protective layer comprising arbitrarily adjustable absorption bands in the region from 400 to 900 nm wavelengths and extensively transparent in the reflecting region of the thermally reflecting layer.
