  • Patent number: 6721294
Abstract: In a method and arrangement for channel allocation in a radio communication system that uses a TD/CDMA subscriber separation method, an allocation of at least one channel is signalled to a radio station by an information element in a signalling message. At least one time slot is thereby selected by a time slot selection sub-information element. Subsequently, at least one CDMA code is selected for each selected time slot with a code selection sub-information element, whereby a number of code selection sub-information elements corresponds to a number of selected time slots.

  • Patent number: 6687514
Abstract: A base station for a radio communications systems contains at least one carrier-related transceiver device and at least one central unit for controlling the base station. The transceiver device and the central unit each contain at least one interface device which are connected by at least one individual line in accordance with a point-to-point connection for transmitting traffic data. Therefore, point-to-point connections with individual lines for each transceiver device that do not need to satisfy the requirements of identical lengths are used instead of a bus structure. In this way, an essentially more cost-effective implementation of the transmission of traffic data between the central unit and transceiver device is possible because the data rate can also be increased in accordance with the length of the individual line. A logic bus structure is mapped onto physical point-to-point connections. Traffic data, o&m data and also synchronization data are transmitted using the bus structure.

  • Patent number: 6381260
Abstract: Data is transmitted via a radio interface in a radio communications system in that at least one subscriber signal is transmitted, which has an individual fine structure applied to it and, in addition to data symbols in data sections, contains a midamble with known symbols. The fine structures of the data sections and of the midamble differ. At the transmission end, a sum signal is produced which contains signal sections to which different fine structures are applied. The sum signal is filtered in at least one transmission filter and is transmitted via a transmission channel to a receiving radio station. A control device controls the addition so that different attenuation of the signal sections is compensated for by the filtering. The method is suitable, in particular, for mobile stations having a single or variable data rate, and for base stations for use in 3rd generation TD/CDMA mobile radio networks.

  • Patent number: 6285063
Abstract: The resonant circuit has at least one resonant body of a semiconductor material anchored on the surface of a semiconductor substrate, at least one first electrode being arranged at said semiconductor material, and at least one second electrode. The first and second electrode are arranged lying opposite one another. When an AC-superimposed DC voltage is applied between the first and the second electrode, the resonant body is excited to mechanical oscillation by the DC voltage. In particular, the resonant circuit can be monoically integrated in electronic circuits.

  • Patent number: 6222835
Abstract: In a process for transmitting data in a digital transmission system with a packet-switched service, an ARQ protocol and channel coding are used for minimizing errors with coders and decoders that supply “soft” information. When a data frame is transmitted again within the ARQ protocol, the information obtained by means of the channel decoder and ARQ protocol, that is, the “soft” information, is processed according to the coded bits together with the data frames transmitted again n+1 to N in data frame n (n= . . . N and n=number of data frames transmitted within the ARQ protocol). This process makes it possible to process the information obtained a priori during decoding of the data frame n+1 together with one or several data frames 1 to n.

  • Patent number: 6085089
Abstract: For setting up a traffic channel connection between an originating mobile station and a destination mobile station of a mobile radiotelephone network, the network having at least two base stations, a base station control unit that controls these, and a mobile switching center connected with this control unit via a transcoding and rate adaption unit, a connection request is signaled from an originating mobile station requesting connection to a destination mobile station via the mobile switching center. Using a database, the mobile switching center determines via which base station the desired destination mobile station can be reached. The transcoding and rate adaption unit contains a switching stage for the traffic channel connection setup, which switches a traffic channel connection between the originating mobile station and the destination mobile station.

  • Patent number: 5903238
Abstract: In a radio station for mobile communication systems, the reception branches of at least two antenna units having different polarization are monitored in order to acquire statements about the polarization direction of the incident wave. Corresponding to the polarization direction of the incident wave, an adaptive fashioning of the radiation characteristic ensues, this fashioning the polarization direction of the emitted wave according to the weighting of the reception signals of the reception branches for the same communication connection. The connection from a base station to a mobile station in a mobile communication system therefore can be improved with an inventive radio station.
