  • Publication number: 20040248272
Abstract: According to the invention, the desoxyribonuclease with increased thermolability is a variant, by way of amino acid substitution, of bovine pancreatic desoxyribonuclease I. The variant protein retains desoxyribonuclease activity. Moreover, the specific desoxyribonuclease activity of the variant of bovine pancreatic desoxyribonuclease I is approximately zero units per mg of protein following heating of the variant of bovine pancreatic desoxyribonuclease I for about 5 min at a temperature below 95° C. In addition, the variant of bovine pancreatic desoxyribonuclease I has no measurable ribonuclease activity.

  • Publication number: 20010039833
Abstract: A respiratory flow sensor is provided with two identical or substantially identical first and second wires arranged at spaced locations from one another in a housing through which the respiratory flow flows. The first and second wires can be heated by a respective associated power source. An air resistance body is arranged in the vicinity of the second wire. A third wire is arranged in the housing at a spaced location from the first and second wires and is used to determine the temperature of the respiratory flow via an associated measuring device for the temperature-dependent electric resistor. A central control and evaluating unit is connected to the power sources and to the measuring device and compensates a temperature change of the respiratory flow. The change is detected with the third wire by a change in the heating current flowing through the first and second wires, so that these wires have an operating temperature that is above the temperature of the respiratory flow by a defined amount.

  • Publication number: 20010003922
Abstract: The invention relates to a measuring arrangement for measuring the flow velocity of a gas. With a single measuring sensor, a physical quantity of the gas as well as the gas temperature can be measured. During a first measuring phase in which the measuring sensor is heated to an operating temperature by a heating current, a first measurement quantity is determined from the change of the heating current caused by the physical quantity. During a second measuring phase, the measuring sensor is connected to a resistance measuring device and the heating current of the measuring sensor is reduced in such a manner that the inherent warming of the measuring sensor is small compared to the operating temperature. A second measurement quantity is determined from the resistance of the measuring sensor which is proportional to the temperature of the gas.

  • Publication number: 20010004372
Abstract: An arrangement for measuring the temperature of fluids has a measuring sensor (4) to which a measuring current is supplied by a current source (11). This arrangement is improved in that the temperature measurement is carried out without significant inherent warming of the measuring sensor (4). The invention is also directed to a method for carrying out the temperature measurement wherein measuring current pulses are applied to the measuring sensor (4) and the voltage maximum and current maximum, which are generated by the measuring current pulses, drop across the measuring sensor (4) and are detected. A quotient of the voltage maximum and the current maximum is formed and this quotient is an index for the temperature of the fluid.

  • Patent number: 5882734
Abstract: In a process for producing a multilayer lacquer coating, eg for motor vehicles, a first coating layer of an aqueous coating agent (1) is electrophoretically applied on to an electrically conductive substrate and is then stoved. As the coating agent (I), a coating agent which, in the stoved state, will produce an electrically conductive coating layer is used. An electrically insulating second coating layer of an aqueous coating agent (II), which differs from (I), is electrophoretically deposited and stoved. A third basic lacquer coating layer of a colour-giving and/or effect-producing coating agent is applied, and a fourth transparent coating layer of a clear lacquer coating agent is applied, the last-mentioned two coats being stoved together. One or more further transparent coating layers may be applied.
