  • Patent number: 5864717
Abstract: A photographic roll-film pack, comprised of a light-proof core case with roll-film, with a photographic shutter, film advance means with manual control, a picture counter, a shutter-release device and apertures and/or lenses of a picture-taking lens and/or viewfinder defining optical beam paths, with a covering for the core case which leaves uncovered at least one manual control, is designed so that the covering is formed by a protective case (11, 12), enclosing the core case (1, 2), which is composed of shells (11, 12) of essentially rigid plastics which is at least transparent in the areas of apertures and/or lenses of a picture-taking lens and/or viewfinder defining optical beam paths. The roll-film pack is thereby protected against moisture, dirt and damage, but can still be manufactured cost-effectively using automated production and it can be re-assembled following removal of an exposed film.

  • Patent number: 4354747
Abstract: A digital circuit is described for controlling functions of a camera wherein the circuit is powered by a potential source which is connected to the circuit through a relay actuated switch. The circuit employs a plurality of D-flip flops to regulate functions such as film transport and opening and closing of the camera shutter as a function of the light intensity of the scene being photographed. A reset signal generator is used to provide stable and reliable control over the starting condition of the flip flops and render the circuit insensitive to voltage transients as may occur from contact bounce effects at the relay actuated switch. The reset signal generator employs an inverter delay chain to provide like reset pulses when such contact bounce occurs. Various control features are described.

  • Patent number: 4331407
Abstract: A miniature still camera wherein a brick-shaped main section of the housing supports and guides an L-shaped second section the longer leg of which is parallel to and located in front of the elongated front side of the main section and the shorter leg of which is parallel to a shorter second side of the main section. The second section is reciprocable between a first position in which its longer leg conceals a picture taking lens which is recessed into the front side of the main section and the shorter leg conceals a view finder in the main section, and a second position in which the lens and the view finder are exposed and the camera is ready to take pictures. The second section cocks the shutter and/or actuates the film transporting mechanism during movement between its first and second positions and is biased to its second position by a helical spring which reacts against a lug of the main section and bears against an eyelet of the second section.

  • Patent number: 4309097
Abstract: A still-camera film transport system includes a perforation feeler and cooperating perforation-detecting switch generating a perforation signal. A motor speed sensor generates a signal indicative of whether the motor speed is above or below a certain level. A shutter-state switch generates a signal indicating whether the shutter is in set or unset state. A motor-control switch is controlled from the output of a logic-circuit stage which receives the above three signals. During normal operation before the film end is reached, the perforation signal is used to generate a deenergize-motor signal, but in dependence upon the shutter-state signal. When the film end is reached no further perforations follow, but the transport motor comes to a halt because it cannot pull the film further. The motor-speed signal indicates this and, when applied to the logic-circuit stage, causes the motor to be deenergized if the shutter is in set state.

  • Patent number: 4284342
Abstract: A slide member is slid by the user for adjusting the value of an exposure parameter, such as exposure-aperture size or exposure duration. The slide member has an inoperative setting and various operative settings, some of which are associated with different exposure-parameter values, others of which are additionally or alternatively associated with other functions and/or operating modes, the user necessarily often referring to the slide member because of its multi-purpose control actions. Electrical switch means are furthermore responsive to the setting of the slide member. A mechanical indicator mechanism of simple design, involving in the preferred embodiment a blocking blade coupled to the slide member and moving into and out of a little indicator window, quickly indicates to the user whether the slide member is in its inoperative setting or one of its various operative settings.

  • Patent number: 4283132
Abstract: A photographic camera has a housing the front wall of which is provided with a view finder having an inlet window and with a lens. A manually slidable first cover is movable to and from a position in which it covers the inlet window, and the second cover is movable to and from a new position in which it covers the lens. An arrangement is provided which links the covers for joint movement so that when the view finder cover moves to a position in which it uncovers the view finder the lens cover automatically also moves to a position to which it uncovers the lens, and vice versa.

  • Patent number: 4281911
Abstract: A motorized film-transporting mechanism for roll film cameras has a motor-circuit switch arranged in the path of movement of a film sensor so as to be closed when a film is present in the camera. A film counter is biased to zero position when the camera back is opened. When a film is present in the camera and the back is closed, the motor is automatically energized to advance the film by a length corresponding to two film frames so as to move this usually spoiled (light-blackened) film length out of the way. The motor is then automatically de-energized and all components are in readiness for subsequent picture-taking and incremental film advance by one film frame each. When all exposures have been made the film is rewound by the motor which shuts down when rewinding is completed.

  • Patent number: 4269492
Abstract: A selector slide is manually displaced by the user from an inoperative setting to a series of operative settings for adjusting exposure-aperture size. When the selector slide leaves inoperative setting, it closes a main power-connect switch connecting the camera's various circuits to the camera battery. The selector slide is provided with a pushbutton which the user depresses to initiate various control or test functions, some of which are performed only in certain settings of the selector slide, others of which are performed within all settings to which the user might move the slide in the course of adjusting aperture size, or another exposure parameter. Examples of such functions are activating a user-oriented scene-light-sufficiency indicator circuit and a circuit which indicates the state of the camera battery.

  • Patent number: 4265527
Abstract: A multi-lamp flash unit and a camera with which it is usable, are described. The flash unit has a mounting shoe with which it is connectable to the camera. The shoe has an opening affording access to the interior of the unit, where a triggering element can be displaced from a rest position to an operating position in which it triggers advancement of a flash lamp into a reflector of the unit. The camera has an element which can enter through the opening and displace the triggering element to the operating position of the same.
