Abstract: Fusible vinyl acetate copolymer fibers based on vinyl acetate copolymers are provided and contain (a) at least 40.0% by weight of vinyl acetate units; (b) 15.0 to 50.0% by weight of monomer units that consist of one or several chlorine-free, ethylenically unsaturated monomer units that consist of one or several ethylenically unsaturated monomers whose homopolymers have a glass transition temperature Tg from -100.degree. to 0.degree. C.

Abstract: The invention provides a coating composition for coating aluminum which is based on vinyl ester copolymers and an organic solvent, the vinyl ester copolymer comprisinga) 20 to 90 parts by weight of a vinyl ester of saturated aliphatic monocarboxylic acids having 1 to 5 C atoms,b) 0 to 70 parts by weight of a vinyl ester of saturated aliphatic monocarboxylic acids which have 9 to 10 C atoms and a quaternary C atom in the .alpha.-position relative to the carboxyl group,c) 0.05 to 10 parts by weight of one or more ethylenically unsaturated mono- or dicarboxylic acids having 3 to 10 C atoms or anhydrides thereof andd) 0 to 50 parts by weight of one or more ethylenically unsaturated monomers, the homopolymers of which have a glass transition temperature above 30.degree. C.The coating composition is free of chlorine-containing polymers and also avoids the necessity for using a chlorine-containing primer.

Abstract: A non-woven material containing from 2% to 25% by dry weight of an alkali-soluble, water-resistant in neutral to weakly acidic solutions, binder for non-woven materials based on an aqueous vinyl acetate copolymer containing protective colloids and optionally emulsifiers and having the following monomer units(1) 50% to 70% of vinyl acetate(2) 20% to 35% of vinyl esters of higher alkanoic acids and/or higher alkyl esters of acrylic or methacrylic acids, and(3) 3% to 15% of ethylenically-unsaturated acids, said binder being applied to said non-woven material as an aqueous dispersion and subsequently dried.

Abstract: Ester copolymers cross-linkable under acid, alkaline and heated conditions consisting essentially of a copolymerizate with from 75% to 99% by weight of vinyl and/or acrylic ester monomer units, from 0.2% to 15% by weight of olefinically-unsaturated halotriazine monomer units, from 0.2% to 10% by weight of mono-olefinically unsaturated monomer units containing free or protected N-methylol groups and, optionally, up to 10% by weight of other monomer units copolymerizable with ester monomer units.
