  • Publication number: 20230321887
Abstract: The invention relates to a device and a method for controlling the feed of polymer melt, which has been discharged from an extruder, to a plastics processing machine formed from at least two subunits (1, 2), to which the polymer melt discharged from the extruder is fed via a distributor (13) which is positioned downstream of the extruder and which serves for splitting up the polymer melt into partial streams corresponding to the number of subunits. According to the invention, the partial streams are each fed to a subunit by means of a gearwheel pump (11, 12). The volume flows fed to the subunits (1, 2), which are of substantially identical design, can be respectively separately controlled in open-loop or closed-loop fashion through control of the drive rotational speed of the respective gearwheel pump (11, 12) in a manner dependent on operating parameters and/or the configuration of the respective subunit (1, 2).

  • Publication number: 20210079940
Abstract: A method of gluing a metal part to another part for use in a personal care device such as an electric toothbrush. The method includes steps of providing a metal, such as steel, part, and another, metal, part; treating a surface portion of the metal part with ultra-fast laser pulses having a pulse length in the femtosecond range, e.g., from about 1 femtosecond to about 990 femtoseconds, so that a surface layer of the metal surface is removed; applying an adhesive to the treated surface of the metal part or to a surface of the other part; and gluing the metal part and the other part together.

  • Patent number: 8046619
Abstract: A network apparatus includes an independent power supply providing a first power signal, and a data distribution device which is operably coupled to the independent power supply and a remote data distribution device, where the remote distribution data device exchanges data and provides a second power signal to the data distribution device, and further where the data distribution device selects the first power signal or the second power signal for operational power. A method includes scanning a plurality of sensors, each coupled to a plurality of power inputs, to ascertain if a power signal is present, determining whether a power signal associated with an independent power supply is present at a power input, sourcing power from the independent power supply if the power signal is associated with an independent power supply, and sourcing power from an alternative supply if the power signal is not associated with an independent power supply.

  • Patent number: 6472783
Abstract: The invention relates to a brushless, electronically commuted motor, more particularly one used as drive motor for a ventilator drive mechanism in an automobile, comprising a permanent magnetic outer rotor (5), in which a stator (7) with three winding wires staggered at 120° el is mounted, in addition to several winding coils for each winding wire. The pitch of the coil of the winding coils (15-37) is s smaller than the pitch of the pole and 0.5 coils are wound per pole and wire (9, 11, 13). A flat, compact, light-weight, silent and efficient EC motor (1) is obtained due to the fact that each winding wire consists of several parallel-connected windings, the outer rotor (5) has at least p=3 pole pairs and a control plate with conductor rails is provided to connect the individual winding coils.
