Abstract: Thermoplastic plasticized polyvinylbutyral molding compositions, in particular films of improved tensile strength and reduced tackiness are prepared by acetalization of polyvinyl alcohol, capable of association, in the associated state with n-butyraldehyde in aqueous phase in the presence of an acid catalyst and, if appropriate, of an organic sulfonic acid having an emulsifying action, after-treatment of the polyvinylbutyral under acetalization conditions at an elevated temperature in the presence of an organic sulfonic acid having 8 to 30 C atoms and having an emulsifying action, isolation and/or purification of the polyvinylbutyral and, if appropriate, admixture of conventional additives and mixing of the product, which may have been dried, with up to 40% by weight of plasticizer, relative to the polymer/plasticizer mixture, and molding, the plasticizers employed being esters of phthalic acid with C.sub.6 -C.sub.10 -alcohols and/or esters of adipic acid with C.sub.6 -C.sub.10 -alcohols.

Abstract: A hand-held labeling device includes a two-line tape-printing mechanism, which can be actuated by means of a movable handle and which can be transferred by a swinging movement of the handle from a rest position to a printing position where characters of the printing mechanism hit against labels arranged above a printing plate so as to print such characters on the labels. A rocking lever fixed to the housing and pivoting about an axis arranged in the front portion of the housing and carrying an inking attachment which during, is guided to ensure that at least one ink roller slides tangentially across the characters before the latter hit upon the labels. Adjoining side walls of the housing, and projecting into the interior of the housing, are fixed in a front plate of the housing of the device.

Abstract: A label tape having self-adhesive labels sticking on a carrier strip, with said labels being separated from each other by cuts running mainly transverse to the longitudinal axis of the label tape and being subdivided each into sections by at least two cutting lines in form of periodic curves running in longitudinal direction to the label tape. The height of the labels is greater than and aliquant to the periodic length of the cutting lines, the form of the cutting lines is chosen such that parts of the cutting lines confine an angle of not more than 90.degree. and the curves of the cutting lines of the label tape are staggered in a longitudinal direction. The height of the label measured in longitudinal direction of the label tape differs from the periodic length of the cutting lines and of a morefold thereof, and the periodic length of the cutting lines is lower than the height of a label. Thus, security against forgery by the invention is improved.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a hand-held labelling device for printing, detaching and dispensing individual adhesive labels mounted on a backing strip and for applying such labels to articles to be labelled, the label tape being guided from a reel of label tape via a counterplate to a deflecting edge and from the latter to transport means arranged in the area below the reel of label tape and comprising a transport wheel with backstop which positively engages the backing strip and which can be moved on step by step by means of an operating handle to transport the said strip, the deflecting edge being provided between the counterplate and the forward end opposite the operating handle and mounted together with the counterplate on a swing-out bottom mounted to pivot about a stationary pin provided in the rear bottom portion, the said device comprising further a pressure roller provided in front of the deflecting edge in the forward portion of the device opposite the said pin.

Abstract: Safety belt buckle comprising a locking part arranged in a buckle housing and a clasp which can be inserted and latched into the locking part and which can be unlocked by means of an operating mechanism, wherein there is a clasp comprising a plate-like blank with engagement recesses constructed in the vicinity of its lateral edges and with a circular guide surface in the front buckle end area and a locking part comprising two single-armed levers arranged in scissor-like manner about a common pivot point in the buckle housing and which are under the action of a locking or tension spring, said levers having at their free ends locking elements which engage in the engagement recesses of the clasp, said locking elements being in operative connection with an operating slide guided on the buckle housing and opening the levers in scissors-like manner for disengaging the clasp.

Abstract: A hand-operated device for applying adhesive labels to an object to be labelled. The labels are carried on a backing strip which is moved intermittently around a deflecting edge such that a label is removed from the backing strip at each feed step. A pressure member serves to apply the label so removed to the object to be labelled and the pressure member and deflecting edge are mounted for movement about a fixed pivot during the feed. A pusher member mounted for movement about a fixed pivot transports the label from the deflecting edge to the pressure member while bearing against the adhesive face of the label.

Abstract: Mixtures of two distinct polyvinyl butyral grades, viz., one high viscosity and one low viscosity grade, both having a narrow molecular weight distribution exhibit good processing characteristics which nearly reach the performance of the high viscosity grades hitherto used.
