    Abstract: A transponder reading device and a control system for controlling the handling and/or processing of transponder-bearing objects by such transponder reading devices. The transponder reading device is equipped with its own microcontroller, and with its own control unit. The microcontroller is, as a component (node) of a control unit, able to communicate with other devices of the same design to exchange information. Consequently, several such devices can be operated simultaneously in a confined space without interfering with each other.
