  • Patent number: 6371163
Abstract: A valve assembly has a one-piece housing having lower, upper, and side sockets respectively defining lower, upper, and side openings. A stepped mounting sleeve has a downwardly directed shoulder bearing inwardly on an upper-opening shoulder, an upwardly directed shoulder, and a threaded lower end engage in a holder inside the housing. An insert mounted on the holder has a front face directed outward at the side opening, adapted to carry a valve cartridge, and provided with connections for fluid supply lines. A mounting rod extending through the insert and sleeve has an upper end at the upper socket and a lower portion extending out of the housing through the lower opening. A nut threaded on the upper rod end bears downward on the upwardly directed shoulder of the mounting sleeve. Mounting structure engaged with the rod lower portion outside the housing secures the housing down against a mounting surface.

  • Patent number: 6289531
Abstract: A plumbing fixture has a hollow housing formed with a first tubular collar extending along a first axis and a second tubular collar extending along a second axis transverse to the first axis. The housing is secured to a deck with the first collar engaging the deck. A holder mounted in the first collar has an end aligned in the housing with the second axis and a valve mount in the housing is fixed on the holder end. An inlet pipe and an outlet pipe extend through the first collar and are connected to the valve mount. A valve cartridge in the housing is releasably secured to the valve mount by fasteners accessible through the second collar.

  • Patent number: 6058972
Abstract: A valve body has a hollow rigid housing formed with at least two outwardly open sockets centered on respective axes that extend generally perpendicularly of each other and a connector body fitted in one of the sockets at an intersection of the axes and having an outer face directed outwardly in the one socket and an inner face directed outward in the other socket. The connector body is also formed with a plurality of passages extending between the faces. A valve cartridge is secured to the connector-body outer face. In addition an insert body fitted in the other socket has an inner face engaging complementarily with the connector-body inner face and is formed with passages having inner ends opening into the connector-body passages at the connector-body inner face and outer ends. One of the inner faces is formed as a recess and the other as a complementary projection such that when fitted together the connector body is fixed in the housing.

  • Patent number: 5558128
Abstract: A plumbing fixture has a housing defining a chamber and having a bottom wall forming an upper surface and formed with at least one inlet port opening at the upper surface. A cartridge assembly in the chamber having a bottom surface directly confronting the bottom-wall upper surface is formed with an inlet port opening on the bottom surface in line with the bottom-wall inlet port. An inlet conduit having an end fitting extending through the inlet port and into the inlet port is formed with an outwardly open circumferential groove generally level with the surfaces. A split and spreadable snap ring fitted to the groove bears on the floor. One of the ports closely surrounds the snap ring and prevents it from spreading and a seal ring engages around the end fitting in the inlet port of the cartridge assembly.

  • Patent number: 5535943
Abstract: A valve assembly has a valve housing having hot- and cold-water inlet ports and a mixed-water outlet port and a valve disk fixed in the housing, centered on an axis, and having a face formed with respective arcuate hot- and cold-water grooves offset diametrically opposite to each other relative to the axis, each aligned with and receiving flow from the respective inlet port, and having centers of curvature at the axis, a is also formed with a central throughgoing outlet opening. A movable valve disk sitting flat on the face of the fixed valve disk is formed with a pair of axially throughgoing arcuate openings offset diametrically opposite to each other and having centers of curvature at the axis and is also formed with a central throughgoing outlet opening aligned with the outlet opening of the fixed disk. The openings and grooves each have an arc length of less than 90.degree..

  • Patent number: 5503115
Abstract: A steam generator with a water lance sprayer for cleaning a surface of a heat exchangers of the steam generator, and more particularly combustion-chamber heat-transfer surfaces in steam boilers, can have an outlet opening swivel-type supported in the wall of the steam generator and its rear parts swivel-type suspended. Such a lance blower is provided with a polydirectional movability in a plane at the outlet opening of the water lance blower without contamination to ensure that the jet meeting the opposite boiler wall describes an exactly defined course. This is done by providing a flange at the outlet opening of the blowpipe, which flange can be attached to a segment of a cardan joint with the cardan joint being fastened in the combustion-chamber wall.

  • Patent number: 4767052
Abstract: A self-regulating mixing valve has a main housing having hot- and cold-water inlets, compartments, and valve seats. A valve body is displaceable axially in the housing between one end position engaging the hot-water seat and an opposite end position engaging the cold-water seat, blocking flow from the cold-water inlet compartment to the outlet compartment, and out of engagement with the hot-water seat and permitting flow from the hot-water inlet compartment to the outlet compartment. On moving between these end positions the valve body passes through intermediate positions permitting flow from both inlet compartments past the respective seats into the outlet compartment. A fitting body fixed in the housing and defining a wall of the outlet compartment is formed with a throughgoing hole opening into the outlet compartment. A thermostat in the outlet compartment is fixed with the valve body to a tubular stem engaged through and limitedly axially movable in the hole of the fitting body.

  • Patent number: 4687025
Abstract: A mixing valve has a base plate adapted to be fixedly mounted on a base fitting and a housing sleeve centered on an axis, mounted on the base plate for rotation about the axis, and formed with a radially open window. A stationary valve plate is fixed on the base plate inside the sleeve and formed with at least two incoming liquid ports and one outgoing water port spaced therefrom. A movable valve plate flatly sitting on the stationary plate inside the sleeve is formed with a chamber alignable with the ports therein. This movable plate is angularly and radially displaceable relative to the axis so the chamber variously overlaps and interconnects the ports. A control member fixed inside the sleeve to the movable valve plate is pivoted on the inner end of a control member also pivoted on the sleeve and having an outer end projecting radially from the sleeve through the window. The sleeve has a lower end rotatably mounted on the base plate and an internally threaded upper end.
