  • Patent number: 7905742
Abstract: The invention relates to a coaxial plug for connecting to a high-frequency transmission line. The housing of the coaxial plug has two slits arranged opposite each other, extending from the plug-side end in the axial direction, and both arranged and designed to form an axial abutment for receiving a BNC pin. A latching fork is arranged on the housing with two latching prongs tangentially overlapping an axial slit of the housing between the abutment and the plug-side end. Each BNC pin is held between a latching prong and an abutment of the axial slit, creating a locked connection between the coaxial plug and the BNC coaxial socket. The latching fork is pivotably arranged between a locking position in which the latching prongs tangentially overlap the axial slits, and a clearing position in which the latching prongs clear the axial slits over the entire length thereof.

  • Patent number: 5399179
Abstract: An arrangement for filtering dust from hot gas, in which a housing is provided with a dirty-gas zone and a clean-gas zone, as well as porous-walled hollow structures that are continuous with the exception of an outlet opening into the clean-gas zone. A filtering tube surrounds the outlet and has an area with spherically convex base that rests against a support fixed in the clean-gas zone. Between the base of the tube and the support, there is an annular adapter which has a coefficient of linear heat expansion that is approximately at least that of the tube. The annular adapter rests against the convex base of the tube, and has a flat surface that rests against a matching flat surface on the support, so that the adapter can slide horizontally over the support that is fixedly connected to the clean-gas zone. The sliding of the adapter relative to the support occurs over oppositely-lying flat parallel surfaces, one of which is on the support and the other is on the adapter.

  • Patent number: 5346533
Abstract: A method of monitoring filter components. The components are hollow and employed for filtering hot and dusty gases. They are accommodated in groups in a housing. Each group communicates through a single supply line with a filtered-gas line. The filtered-gas line conveys the filtered gas away. A sweeper is injected in the form of a gas into each supply line in cycles at higher pressure. The sweeping cycle is recorded. Measurement is carried out in the flow of sweeper and/or of filtered gas. The result of the measurement is compared with the record and an alarm released in the event of a discrepancy.

  • Patent number: 5338326
Abstract: A device for monitoring the hollow filter components employed to filter hot and dusty gases. The components are grouped inside a filter housing (1). The components communicate through supply lines (9) with collectors ( 10). The collectors convey the filtered gas away. The line supplying each group accommodates a lance (15). The lance injects a fluid for sweeping the components clean. A transducer (16) downstream of the filter components detects the pressure of the filtered gas in the line. A change in pressure reveals a malfunction.

  • Patent number: 4738560
Abstract: A connection of an outer sheet metal member with an inner sheet metal member whereby the outer sheet metal member must form an optically smooth surface. For that purpose, the outer sheet metal member is folded over the inner sheet metal member and a welding seam is then made from the folded-over side by means of a low energy welding process, for example, special forms of the protective gas welding or energy beam welding, and more particularly in such a manner that only the folded-over part of the outer sheet metal member and the inner sheet metal member fuse. The non-folded-over side of the outer sheet metal member thereby shows no impairment whatsoever by the welded connection.

  • Patent number: 4486123
Abstract: An underwater pipe laying vessel for laying a continuous pipeline, applying what is known as the "J" shape pipe laying method, uses shorter lengths of pipeline welded together on board end to end to form pipe assemblies; the pipe assemblies are stored and subsequently transported to a pipe laying boom unit which guides pipe assemblies to be welded end to end to a pipeline which is already in the "process of laying" under the vessel. The pipe laying boom is located substantially in the center of the vessel and is swivelled about a horizontal axis which is perpendicular to the length of the vessel; the boom includes a flash butt welder and an underlying jacketing-unit for suitably treating a welded surface of the pipeline to prevent subsequent corrosion; a pipeline section guide and pipeline section support located under the jacketing-unit assist in supporting and guiding the treated pipeline for proper positioning.

  • Patent number: 4367076
Abstract: Dust-laden hot product gas under pressure is admitted into a vessel suspended in a water bath. It escapes through openings in the top of the vessel and the rising bubbles are intercepted by upright tubes through which they cause a flow of water to effect a turnover of the bath. This causes the gas to become cooled, dust to be scrubbed from it and the gas also to become saturated with water vapor.

  • Patent number: 4343626
Abstract: The reactor for the production of CO and H.sub.2 containing gases by means of a partial oxidation of powdery or liquid high ash fuels in a carburation fluid including free oxygen, at high temperatures and increased pressure, includes a pressure vessel enclosing a gas-tight housing whereby an interspace is formed between the inner wall of the vessel and the outer surface of the housing. Within the housing is arranged a cooling wall enclosing the reaction chamber proper. The cooling wall includes a coil of cooling pipes embedded in a mass of refractory material such as silicium carbide. The pipes are partially supported on web sections projecting from the inner surface of the housing into the refractory lining. The web sections prevent propagation of leaking hot gas from the reaction chamber along the inner surface of the housing.

  • Patent number: 4325709
Abstract: The invention concerns a method for the operation of gasification plants for pulverized fuels, wherein the pulverized fuel is reacted in a flame reaction with a gasifying agent containing free oxygen, into a combustible gas containing CO and H.sub.2. The task consists in precluding upon malfunctions in the supply of fuel, an oxygen discharge into the cooling and treatment plants, taking into consideration delays in the emergency shut-off systems and the controls for the oxygen supply. As per invention, a well-flowing additional fuel is stored in a reservoir at a pressure higher than the operating pressure of the gasification reactor. Upon malfunctions in the fuel supply, the additionally stored fuel will be transferred, within a short time, into the reaction chamber of the gasification plant. As additional well-flowing fuel combustible gas, liquid fuel or a pulverized solid fuel, also well-flowing, can be used.

  • Patent number: 4203021
Abstract: A method and an apparatus for the control of the filler material supply rate in energy beam welding as electron beam welding is disclosed. The width or cross-sectional area of a gap defined by opposed faces of two workpiece parts to be joined is measured by radiation, preferably X-ray radiation, and the rate with which filler material is supplied into a welding zone produced by the energy beam is controlled in proportion to the result of the measurement. The measurement may be made in advance of the welding zone and the control is then delayed by a period of time, which the welding zone takes to arrive at the position of the gap, where the measurement was made.
