  • Patent number: 6220798
Abstract: A tool for the machining of workpiece surfaces, especially of drilled-hole surfaces, has at least two parts which are displaceable relative to each other. The tool for the machining of the workpiece surfaces is rotatable and includes at least one control member (19) which is displaceable relative to the tool (1) substantially perpendicularly to the axis of rotation (9) of the tool. The control member, preferably from a preset threshold speed of rotation, effects a movement of one part (5) relative to the other (3).

  • Patent number: 6077428
Abstract: The invention relates to a filter for the deposition filtration of liquids such as juice, wine, beer or the like. A filter packet (28) of plate-type filter elements (25), stacked one on top of the other, is disposed in a container (3), each filter element (25) having a hub (26) that is oriented in its position by a shaft (12) penetrating the filter packet (28). In the hub (26), there is provided an axial inlet line (36) for the material (18) to be filtered, which inlet line feeds by a plurality of inflow channels (46) which are situated to be uniformly distributed in the peripheral direction of each hub (26) and which lead substantially radially outwards. The inflow channels (46) open into an annular distributor space (47), from which the material to be filtered flows out. The material to filtered flows out via an outlet gap (45) situated above the inflow channels (46), radially into the space (29) between adjacent filter elements (25).

  • Patent number: 6050159
Abstract: A facing head includes a housing with a center axis and a rotary slide with a rotation axis offset from the housing center axis. At least one cutter plate is provided on the rotary slide and rotatable therewith. A centrifugal drive is located in the housing which rotates the rotary slide about its axis of rotation. The centrifugal drive includes at least two driving bodies which are mounted within the base body of the facing head and which are displaceable essentially perpendicular to the center axis under the influence of centrifugal force. The rotary slide rotates under the influence of a spring return device when centrifugal force does not move the driving bodies outward. A coupling device in the form of a gear wheel on the rotary slide co-operates with racks on the driving bodies so that the driving bodies move together but in opposition.

  • Patent number: 5915889
Abstract: A polygon shaped cutting tip for a metal workpiece boring tool, the cutting tip having linear side edges lying in a common plane and adjacent side edges which pass tangentially into rounded corner regions. Parts of the corner regions and of the side edges serve as the primary and secondary cutting edges of the tip. A chip breaker edge is arranged at a distance in from the side edges. A chip breaker surface extends from the side edge to the chip breaker edge. The chip breaker edge includes linear sections corresponding to the linear side edges of the tip and has curved sections which correspond to the curved regions of the side edges. The arc of curvature of both the curved regions and the curved sections is the same although the arcuate length of the curved sections is greater. The chip breaker surface extends from the side edges of the corner regions inward toward and downward into the tip at an acute angle where it intersects the chip breaker edges.
