  • Patent number: 5768881
Abstract: A yarn withdrawal nozzle for an open-end rotor spinning machine is provided with at least one ferromagnetic member. The at least one ferromagnetic member serves to couple the yarn withdrawal nozzle to a holding device comprising at least one permanent magnet. The permanent magnet is arranged sunk in a recess. The at least one ferromagnetic member comprises a projection with a diameter of approximately 2 to 3 mm. The projection can be guided into the recess and thus can be positioned to the permanent magnet. The projection serves also as an anti-rotating device.

  • Patent number: 4833874
Abstract: In the case of a process and an apparatus for the automatic exchange of yarn packages and spool cores at a spinning unit of a machine having a plurality of spinning units which each spin two prestrengthened yarns and wind them as a double yarn onto a spool core, it is provided that the winding-up is interrupted for the exchange of the yarn packages and spool cores, the full package is replaced by a spool core having a starter winding with a starter yarn, and in that the double yarn coming from the devices for the spinning and the starter yarn are placed in a splicing arrangement and are spliced together with one another, after which the winding-up is restarted.

  • Patent number: 4548030
Abstract: An open end yarn spinning apparatus is disclosed which comprises a plurality of side by side spinning positions, with each spinning position including a circular spinning rotor, and aerodynamic bearings rotatably mounting the rotor. A maintenance carriage is adapted to move along one side of the apparatus, and the carriage mounts a cleaning device which may be introduced into the open side of the rotor upon disengagement of its drive means. To prevent the aerodynamic thrust bearing from being damaged during the cleaning operation by reason of the low speed rotation of the rotor, biasing means is provided for applying an axial force to the rotor to axially separate the thrust bearing and thereby avoid undue wear.
