  • Publication number: 20050276423
Abstract: In order to record and to process audio signals with a good useful-signal to noise-signal ratio in acoustic noise conditions and with a good ratio between the direct sound and the reflected sound in an environment which in particular has no reverberation electrical signals produced by conversion of audio signals recorded by a predetermined microphone arrangement are processed in such a manner that, if the sound pressure levels at the microphones in the microphone arrangement are the same, electrical signals which are produced by these microphones but are of different intensity—different sensitivities of the microphones—are automatically matched, without any manual matching procedures needed to be carried out individually and separately. A microphone arrangement is based on combining the characteristics of an array of microphones with those of a method for matching the sensitivity of microphones.

  • Patent number: 6611595
Abstract: In order to be able to measure the transmission properties of transmission links mutually influencing one another with crosstalk in electrical message systems, particularly of handsfree equipment (FSE) such that the measurement is not falsified by occurring crosstalk influences, measuring signals that are essentially orthogonal are generated in the time or frequency domain in the measuring system (MS) from respectively at least two voice or test signals.

  • Patent number: 6134522
Abstract: In order to improve the transmission quality of block-coded audio signals in audio communications systems, for example in DECT cordless telephones, when transmission errors occur, in such a manner that the requirement for computation power and thus the costs are minimal and no additional delay occurs to the audio signal to be transmitted, pauses in the audio signal which are caused by transmission errors are replaced by a pause-specific substitution signal which is generated in advance. In the simplest case, the substitution signal is generated by the signal section which immediately precedes a given signal section of the audio signal being buffer-stored and, if the given signal section is disturbed, being inserted into the gap which is produced by the disturbance.
