Patent number: 9775378Abstract: A cigarette paper contains pulp fibers and filler particles, whereby at least 20% of the filler particles, by mass or by particle number, have a flaked shape. The flaked filler particles have a length l, a width b and a thickness d, which correspond to the respective maximum extension in three mutually orthogonal spatial directions, whereby the length l as well as the width b are at least twice as large as the thickness d. The mass-specific median value d50 of the particle size distribution measured according to ISO 13317-3 is between 0.2 ?m and 4.0 ?m, and the flaked particles are formed by calcium carbonate.Type: GrantFiled: November 25, 2014Date of Patent: October 3, 2017Assignee: delfortgroup AGInventors: Dieter Möhring, Roland Zitturi, Dietmar Volgger

Patent number: 9414626Abstract: A cigarette paper is disclosed which contains pulp fibres and filler material particles, wherein at least 50% by weight, preferably at least 70% by weight and particularly at least 90% by weight of the filler material has a particle size distribution measured in accordance with ISO 13320 for which for the distribution parameter p=d10+2·d30+2·d70-d90 holds: p?5.0 ?m, preferably p?4.0 ?m and particularly preferably p?3.5 ?m, and p??1.0 ?m, preferably p?0.0 ?m and particularly preferably p?1.0 ?m.Type: GrantFiled: October 8, 2013Date of Patent: August 16, 2016Assignee: delfortgroup AGInventors: Dieter Möhring, Roland Zitturi, Kannika Pesendorfer, Dietmar Volgger

Patent number: 9392817Abstract: The invention relates to a paper that disintegrates quickly in water, for use as a filter material or filter wrapper paper of a cigarette filter. At least 80 wt % of the paper is formed by cellulose fibers. Of the cellulose fibers, at least 80 wt % are a mixture of long fiber pulp and mercerized pulp. 0 to 90 wt % of the content of the mixture is formed by mercerized pulp, and the rest is formed by long fiber pulp. The cellulose fibers of the mixture have a freeness of at most 30° SR according to ISO 5267. In the disintegration test using an apparatus as described in TAPPI T 261, the paper exhibits a disintegration of at least 60% after 30 seconds.Type: GrantFiled: May 14, 2013Date of Patent: July 19, 2016Assignee: delfortgroup AGInventors: Stefan Bachmann, Dietmar Volgger, Dieter Möhring, Kannika Pesendorfer, Guido Reiter

Patent number: 9115471Abstract: A method of producing a filter wrapper paper for a smoking article is described. The paper has a content of long-fiber pulp of at least 30 wt %, preferably at least 40 wt %, relative to the pure fiber mass of the paper. The freeness of the long-fiber pulp as per ISO 5267, Schopper-Riegler method, is between 80° SR and 100° SR, preferably between 85° SR and 95° SR. The filter wrapper paper has a filler content of less than 10 wt %, preferably less than 8 wt %, and especially preferably less than 6 wt % relative to the total mass of the paper and is impregnated with a material that is suitable for forming an aqueous composition, more particularly an aqueous solution or an aqueous suspension. The oil-resistance of the filter wrapper paper has a KIT level of at least 4, preferably at least 5, according to TAPPI T559 cm-02.Type: GrantFiled: November 10, 2014Date of Patent: August 25, 2015Assignee: delfortgroup AGInventors: Roland Zitturi, Dietmar Volgger, Dieter Möhring
